Celebrate: Adventure on Nemesis Mountain & Freebies

Today I'm celebrating:
1) Going out with friends for Mexican food at the Hard Rock Cafe.  Yes, there's a Hard Rock Cafe in Hurghada, Egypt. It cost me 5 times what I spend in regular Egyptian restaurants or pizzarias, but the food was excellent.  YOLO (you only live once)
2) The "I finished Ch 11!" and accompanying happy dance may have been premature.  After some feedback from CPs, I'm going back to revise...
3) Speaking of CPs, a dear friend who was in a children's writing group with me is releasing an MG novel!  Read on to find out more!

MG Action/Adventure, Coming-of-Age

Emilio would rather eat a slimy worm than miss the fifth grade field trip. Nemesis Mountain must be full of rare leaf specimens and bugs for his collection. Besides, he needs a break from the playground and Hans’s nonstop teasing. His excitement is squashed when he gets lost in the woods with his worst enemy.

Alone in the forest, the two boys battle to survive the harsh wilderness, facing challenges that will change their lives forever.

Sometimes you just have to spoil yourself, don't you? And hang the expense!

Good luck to Annie with Nemesis Mountain.

Congratulations, Annie!
A little revision is all right. Don't stress and keep dancing.

I've never been to a Hard Rock Cafe, glad you had a good time.

Congratulations on finishing a chapter! :)

Nemesis Mountain sounds like something my nephew would love.

Have a wonderful weekend Lexa! ♥

Congratulations and best of luck to Annie. As for the revision--I expect in the end you'll say, "That's so much better!" and it won't seem so painful. Enjoy your weekend.

Good on finishing Chapter 11. Hard Rock? My kind of place. Enjoy!

Mexican cuisine in Egypt? I don't know why that would surprise. Congratulations on chapter 11 :)

Thank you for featuring my book! You've always been one of the most supportive members of our group. I'm glad to see your book is published!

yay, congrats to Annie! And good luck with revisions, Lexa! I ate at Hard Rock once in the city with my friends (after MUCH debate)...most expensive salad and coke I ever had in my life, but totally fun and worth the memories! :)

Mexican food at a Hard Rock Cafe in Egypt? Awesome! It's a shame it's so expensive, but probably worth a splurge now and then!

Adventure stories like that -- "true" survival -- always appeal to me, so thanks for the review!

Oh, the revise never seems over!
But congrats on your progress.
And a congrats to Annie.
The Hard Rock is fun. Good music.

Congrats on the progress with your WIP. Nemesis Mountain sounds like an interesting story. And thanks for posting the link to my freebie.

Keep on happy dancing; revision is just the final stage of getting there :)

I get to go out to dinner at a new restaurant tonight too! That's a happy dance for me, as I don't have to cook or do dishes.

Cathrina Constantine said...

Congrats to Annie! I've also prematurely danced at a conclusion of a chap. or story thinking I hit a home run to learn I got out at first! But that dance will come back, I'm sure! Have a nice weekend.

Enjoy your dinner. Here in Oregon it's raining too hard to venture out. Rain probably isn't something you deal with too much.

Lori L. MacLaughlin said...

Congrats to Annie on her new release! Good luck with your revisions. You'll be doing the happy dance again soon. Enjoy your night out!

YOLO is right - going out for Mexican at Hard Rock with friends in Egypt is too awesome a combination of fun factors to pass up!

Good luck with your revisions, and all the best to Annie on the release of her new book!

Agree on spoiling yourself sometimes:)

Huge congrats to Annie... yay

Ah yes. Those lovely edits. Soon your story will be just like you want it.
Congratulations, Annie. Sounds like a great story for MG readers. Best of luck.

On #1--it's not surprising to me that there's a Hard Rock Cafe in Egypt. What IS surprising is that it serves Mexican food? Ours serve only American, as far as I know. It's been a while since I've been, but all I remember from the menu are hamburgers. I LOVE Mexican food!

I've been to the Hard Rock Cafe in St. Louis, Missouri and the one in Paris, France. It's expensive but definitely a good time!

Wherever we go as a family vacation, we make a stop at the local Hard Rock. I have Hard Rock pjs, my daughters had Hard Rock onesies, and everyone in our family has one or more articles from the store. Yep, we're sold! Even the kids now ask when are we visiting such and such Hard Rock. LOL

Truth is, the one in Mexico City has indy rock nights and my husband played a couple of times there with his then band. I guess one never forgets something like that. =)

Happy Halloween!

Lexa, you always have the best freebies!! Thanks for sharing!
Good luck with your revisions. I really have to get back to my novel but Luna has inspired a new children's book. So much to do!
I love Mexican and I might have to use your YOLO word. Love it!

I've never been to a Hard Rock Cafe either and congrats on finishing Ch. 11 - even if if you do have to revise it a bit :)

When last have I eaten Mexican? Does eating nachos served at a non-Mexican restaurant count? Probably not.
I read somewhere that nachos were invented in Mexico, but they were created for an American palate.

Sometimes a good dinner out is worth the expense once in a while. :)
Great celebrations!

Mexican food at an American/British restaurant in Egypt? I'm not sure about that one... hehe. Yay for WIP progress and yay for another Annie! :) I do have a freebie; my short story "Jack and the Bad Man" is up as audio at Pseudopod right now!

I haven't been to the Hard Rock in a long time. Now I'm wanting to go again.

Best wishes to Annie!

I LOVE Mexican food. Worth some more dough. :)

Congrats to Annie!

I love the acronym YOLO. It gave me the image of someone running down the hallway, arms waving, shouting at the top of their lungs, "YOLO!!!!"

Glad you got good food.

Grats to Annie! Best of luck with her book!

Annie said...

Thanks, everyone, for your encouragement! *waving to the other Annie* And now I'm very curious about Hard Rock Cafe.

Congrats to Annie and happy writing.

A splurge on food is well worth it.

Scribbles From Jenn said...

I love Mexican food, too! Not sure if I'd pay five times more for it though.

Congratulations to Annie! Emilio is braver than I am, I'd skip the field trip and the worm.
