Celebrate: Silly Squirrels & Giveaways

I have lots to do this week, and one thing is researching book bloggers and their reviewing policies.  I'd be a great online researcher except for my fatal flaw ---
"Oh, look! Squirrel!"

Yes, I'm easily distracted by things I stumble across.  To give you an idea what I'm going through, here are some distracting squirrels for your entertainment!

How about you?  Do you get distracted when doing online research?

Celebrate: Bloodwalker Contract! & Giveaways

I'm thrilled to report that BLOODWALKER has a publisher!  Freedom Fox Press, an imprint of Dancing Lemur Press, owned by L. Diane Wolfe, will publish BLOODWALKER in October 2016!

Freedom Fox is the hybrid publishing division of Dancing Lemur Press and allows its authors to retain control of cover, price, and most decisions while distributing the books to vendors and helping with marketing and PR.  Dancing Lemur Press, the traditional publishing division, has published all four of Alex J. Cavanaugh's SciFi Cassa Series books, IWSG anthologies, and recently published Beverly Stowe McClure's Under A Purple Moon.

I'm so happy to be in such great company!  Being an author with Dancing Lemur/Freedom Fox will be like being in a family where I know and respect both the publisher and the other authors.

There'll be lots to do in the coming months, like finalizing design, proofing the galley, getting out ARCs (Advance Reader Copies) to book bloggers and reviewers, and scheduling a book tour for the release.

I'm stoked!!  Woohoo!!

Celebrate: Choose-A-Way Auckland, NZ & Giveaways

Today I'm celebrating:
1) I'm slowly getting back up to speed with revisions and writing my Alaskan novel, COLDEST NIGHT, after dental issues and exploding appliance disasters overwhelmed me during the past month.
2) After spending a long night writing, getting caught up on social media, and blog commenting, I woke late today.  Very late.  But when I dragged myself from the bedroom, instead of seeing piled up chores and an empty fridge -- I saw big bags of take-out food my hubby had gotten while I slept. Woohoo!!! Take-out food (along with helpful spouses) are a writer's best friends!!!
3) I'm thrilled to feature the release of an awesome book by Rhonda Albom, plus amazing freebies from blogger friends C. Lee McKenzie and Alexia Chamberlynn. Read on for the cool info!

If you're planning a trip to New Zealand - or even just have it on your bucket list - don't miss this great guide book! I read it and loved it!

Blurb:
Choose A Way Auckland is an interactive city guide by local travel writer and photographer Rhonda Albom. She shares firsthand the best that the city has to offer while you make all the decisions.
Unlike traditional guidebooks, now you can build your day as you go. Choose from three options, enjoy the activity, and then choose from three more. The choices will keep your day flowing, allowing you a worry free Auckland adventure as you discover the highlights of the city, along with the offbeat, hidden treasures.
In addition to a succinct description, each option includes a photo, the address, GPS coordinates, a link to Google Maps, and easy-to-follow directions that have been tried and tested. Use it on your smartphone or tablet to make choices on-the-go, or plan ahead on your laptop.
It’s not just for visitors, Aucklanders love it too.

This ebook is part of the interactive Choose a Way series, which utilizes authors around the world, each writing about their own city. Publisher's Page: http://www.chooseaway.com/project/auckland/

Celebrate: Could Be Worse & Giveaways!

The Cain household had a couple of casualties this week.  My 20-year-old vacuum cleaner's engine blew up.  Then my 15-year-old water heater cracked and sprang a leak and flooded my kitchen.  No one was hurt in the accidents other than the appliances mentioned, but they're a total loss.

Well, it could have been worse ... and all other household items are doing fine!

Have you ever had any major household appliances die and had to replace it?
