Celebrate: Thunderclap Sign-Up & Giveaways

I'm doing a Thunderclap for the release of
BLOODWALKER on October 4.
If you have Twitter or Facebook, I'd appreciate your support.
Please sign up for the Thunderclap here >> http://thndr.me/rAceFb  <<
The message and image (below it) on the Thunderclap page will appear on your FB wall and/or your Twitter feed on Oct. 4th. Thanks!

This week I'm celebrating:
1) I got my Thunderclap campaign page up and approved! I followed all the directions, although it's the first time I'm using it, so I'm not sure the image will post to Twitter. I'll just have to cross my fingers...
2) Remember the light-saber dueling turtles last week?  I'm happy to report that my Light Side won and I've started working on my Alaskan WIP again. Yay!
3) A much-loved CP has returned to my CP group!  He writes excellent thrillers, and I'm so happy to be working with him again!
4) The hubs has been cooking every day this week. It's such a load off me. Yay for helpful husbands!

Does your partner help with cooking and the chores?

I contacted people who haven't posted for Celebrate in several months.  Some asked to stay on the list; a few said they were too busy to join in at the moment.

So pleased you're working on your book again. Can't wait to read on... And in answer to your question, not a lot. My partner doesn't cook, but he does occasionally do laundry if I ask more than once or twice.

Glad to hear the procrastination is over. It feels so good, doesn't it?

I don't have anyone to help with chores, just me! :-)

However, the male members of my family are generally good. My brother certainly does his share, and has learned to cook since he got married, though not often, because his wife enjoys cooking.

One of my nephews looks after the little ones quite a lot, especially when his wife is off doing a catering gig, but regularly anyway.

My youngest nephew isn't married yet, but when he does, he will probably insist on doing the cooking, which he does very well. He's even invented some recipes.

My husband makes excellent cheeseburgers and homemade pizzas. Anything beyond that is too much for him, though. Still, I appreciate it when he makes the effort.

Good luck with the Thunderclap campaign!

I'll happily post on FB and Twitter when October 4 rolls around. I don't really feel comfortable giving Thunderclap access to my social media accounts, however. Drop me a line or post something here the day before and I'll be sure to share!

Hurray! Glad you've found the motivation to work on your WIP again. And lucky you, having a husband who can cook for you! I'd probably skip meals less often if I had one of those, LOL.

Signing up for the Thunderclap!
My wife and I both cook, so it works out.
Now, back to writing, Lexa!

Congrats on being back on the book. As for hubby's mine not only makes great coffee, he also makes dinner almost every night.

JeffO said...

What the heck is Thunderclap? I guess I'll have to find out...

Looks like you've had a pretty good week, Lexa. Here's hoping the good stuff just keeps rolling through the weekend!

The power of light always triumphs over darkness - glad the good turtle one that epic battle :-) Sounds like you've had an awesome week, especially with hubby cooking.

L. Diane Wolfe said...

As many Twitter supporters as you have, your Thunderclap will be a huge success.

A story set in Alaska? How fun.

The retired man, who took gourmet cooking classes over twenty years ago and cooked many great meals for a number of years, now has no interest in even boiling water. He cleans up my messes, though, and for that reason I have decided to keep him.

All great things to celebrate, Lexa! My guy helps with the cooking and cleaning. I picked a winner! :)

ps-signed up for your thunderclap. :)

I'm all signed up for your thunderclap! Yay for a hubs that helps. My tried to several times. Let's just say, it's better for the entire household if he doesn't (oh how I wish this wasn't the case!) So treasure that man of yours :)
Lol! I felt like a silly goose this week. I wanted to read Bloodwalker, went to Amazon to get it (it was next on my TBR), and realized. . .it's not out yet! Now, I have something to still look forward to.

Yay for the light "write" side's victory. I am hoping to be writing again on September 12 if not a bit sooner. My husband does help with the cooking and he does the dishes after dinner so I can escape the house for exercise.

Yay for working on your book again! It's great that your husband is helping out. Good luck with the Thunderclap campaign! I'll be happy to post about your book when the time comes.

Suzanne Furness said...

Great that your hubs is helping out with the cooking and chores so that you can have a little extra time to concentrate on marketing and writing.

Julia Thorley said...

Congrats on the work you've started. I confess the idea of a Thunderclap thingy is a new one on me!

Julie Flanders said...

Just joined the Thunderclap! You are going to totally rock Twitter with that. :)

Yay for the light side winning!!

Laura Clipson said...

My partner is terrible at helping with chores. He only helps out when I've nagged him a lot, to shut me up I'm sure! He's pretty good when I'm sick, though.

Loni Townsend said...

I signed up for the Thunderclap! My husband is a better cook than me, so he'll cook if he's available. Much to the woe of the family, I'm usually home before him. :)

The big day is getting closer, so exciting!

Deanie Humphrys-Dunne said...

Very excited you're working on your book and I signed up for Thunerclap.
Also, a big plus that your husband has been cooking for you. One less thing to fret about. :)

DA Cairns said...

Good luck with the new novel-a copy of which I will of course be purchasing. I joined the Thunderclap campaign. I've never heard of Thunderclap. There are so many things out there to help us writers promote our work, but so much competition for readers. One month to go...I hope Bloodwalker does well.

stephen Hayes said...

Although I'm a pretty good cook, my wife prefers I stay out of the kitchen. I do chores but probably not enough.

Awesome you got back in the groove. Its always hard. All the best!

Lexa, I signed on for Thunderclap for Twitter and FB. I hope this helps a lot! Have a good weekend, dearie!

It's great that you're getting back to your WIP and that you got your critique partner back. How wonderful that your husband is cooking for you! Cooking can take a big chunk of your time, especially when you don't have much time to spare. You always seem very productive. I think you're doing a great job!

Have a great weekend!

T.F. Walsh said...

Awesome work on your thunderclap.. I'm all signed up:) My hubby cooks sometimes.. not often, but when he does, it's heaven because i don't have to do it :)

Nissa Annakindt said...

I hope your book release goes great! Nice you've trained your husband to cook for you. And you don't mind him in the kitchen.

As for what I have to celebrate--- my cat Consubstantial 1, the cat who had a seizure, is much better. And still nursing other cats' kittens. Even the really big kittens who are nearly her size.

I'm glad your light side won out. I can't wait to read on.

My hubby doesn't cook much. But since his schedule changed, he is helping with dishes and other house stuff more. It makes a difference. Enjoy your weekend, Lex!

I supported your ThunderClap! Good Luck!!!

Glad to hear you're writing again!!!

Have a nice weekend, Lexa!!!

I'm a bit stumped on my current WIP (a cozy mystery) and am thinking about setting it aside to work on something new (a more light-hearted Hallmarky romance). Have you had success working on more than one project at a time? Would love to hear your advice. Thanks! Also continue to participate in the CTST on Fridays - grateful for the encouragement. www.dianeweidenbenner.com

Also, I'm not sure what a Thunderclap is so I will check it out on your site! I do love to see what you are working on next! You are inspiring!

Yvonne Ventresca said...

I love your celebrations this week! Good CPs are so important -- that's wonderful news.

Sharon Himsl said...

Ambitious lady! Wishing you the best of success with Blood Walker! Thanks for your recent email (I needed a blog kick-start :). My hubby helps out a lot now that he's retired. We have the time to do all those things we never could before, but it's easy to get too busy. It's the Catch-22 of retirement.

Yolanda Renée said...

Such cool wonderful happenings for you. I'm thrilled and yes, I've supported your Thunderclap!

Can't wait to read your Alaskan WIP!

H.R. Bennett said...

My wife and I regularly go back and forth. We each have little chores that we often do ourselves (I clean the bathroom and take out the trash while she folds clothes), but most of them are simply a matter of "You did it last? Ok, I got it this time."

Except for cooking.

My wife CANNOT cook.

cleemckenzie said...

Love it when the light shines through! Keep going on that book.

I know your Thunderclap will be successful. Can't fail! And I've clapped.

I'm trying to make that short story, Lost at Devil's Table, free on Amazon, but they ignore my "better price at Smashwords" emails. They do not want to make anything free!

Beverly Stowe McClure said...

I did the Thunderclap on Face Book and Twitter. It shows up on Twitter. Good luck.

Joylene Nowell Butler said...

October 6 is coming very fast. Hope you sell mega books, Lexa, and have fun doing it.

J.H. Moncrieff said...

Sad to say I'm not sure what a Thunderclap is. Must look into that...

My bf is hugely helpful when it comes to chores. He makes my life so much easier, always.

Congrats on getting your writing mojo back! That's great about the critique partner too.
