Celebrate: 200K Page Views & Giveaways!

I'm celebrating:
1)  Today or tomorrow, my blog will hit 200,000 page views! I've been watching the numbers climb on the Blogger "Total Pageviews" counter on my left sidebar all week, and I'm pretty excited! The total leaped up this week because I've been plugging my Cover Poll on blog hops, FB, and Twitter and have a lot of additional hits, about 700 (even though only about 80 of them have officially voted).
2) The dentist didn't have to pull my tooth. Yay! I'll be getting a crown. It's a lot more expensive but a lot less painful.
3) My Cover Poll is doing well. According to SurveyMonkey stats, 82 wonderful people have voted so far, and many have also offered encouraging words and helpful suggestions in the comments. I plan to announce the winner and put up screenshots of the SurveyMonkey totals next Friday, Mar 11.

** If you haven't seen the book covers or voted yet,

Do you keep track of your blog's page/post views, and look curiously at where they're from? Are most of the hits from your home country or others?

Wow... that is super exciting and impressive. Congrats on the page views and on getting so many great votes for your cover. I can't wait to see the overall winner:)

That's exciting news.I do sometimes like to check out the stats and see what's happening. Glad your tooth doesn't have to come out and is less painful.

I'm pretty hopeless at looking at my stats. I spend some of my work time looking at analytics for the various websites and social media streams I manage and I tend to forget about checking my own. I do know the vast majority of my hits are not from New Zealand though... Mainly the USA.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Congratulations! And glad you're getting so many votes on your covers.
I hit a milestone recently with page views and completely missed it since I don't pay attention.

That's awesome about your page views for your blog and so important to celebrate those milestones. Glad you got your tooth pulled and are feeling better.

And to think I got excited when my blog hit 50,000 pageviews back in January! Congrats on that, and good for you, I think, on the tooth thing.

I do look at my stats, of course. Most of my visitors are from the good old US of A, though I periodically get spikes in traffic from unexpected places like Latvia and Ukraine. Have a great weekend!

I forget to look at the blog poll now that I have been online for a while. I do love to read the comments, however. Congrats, that's a lot of reads!

Congrats on the huge amount of page views, and ooh, nice not to have to get a tooth pulled.

Congrats on the page views! And so glad the tooth can stay. I heading over to the covers right now (can't believe I haven't done that yet)

Congrats on your blog. It's nice to have a blog that gets attention. I'm celebrating the fact that my hens have laid 2 eggs today. That's 28 cents worth! And I only had to buy $60 worth of feed yesterday. I'm going to be rich!

Congrats on the page views!! That's fantastic. And so glad you didn't have to have your tooth pulled. I had to get a crown a few years ago and it wasn't too bad.

Cathy Kennedy said...

Lexa, congrats on the pageview stats. That's very impressive! I just voted and I'll be eager to see which cover wins. Have a joyful weekend!

Congrats on the page views, Lexa. I am not at all surprised though. You have a great site, a wonderful blogshare and some loyal readers. You deserve this! 82 voters is impressive as well. I am so excited to see which one wins! Have an amazing weekend, Lexa! ~Lori~

Awesome stats on your page views, Lexa and I've voted on your covers - that was hard so many are good!! Have a super week and looking forward to your cover reveal soon :) Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace

Wow, 200,000 page views is fantastic! Really a good thing to celebrate. So glad they didn't have to pull your tooth. Having a cap on it is much less traumatic for everything but your finances. Happy weekend.
I voted for one of your book covers. It was hard to choose a favorite.

That's a lot of visits! Good for you!

The crown will be worth it, i know, i have three.

I receive almost as many visits from Russia as I do from America. I find it hard to believe Russians are enjoying my posts. Maybe the Kremlin thinks our nuclear launch codes are embedded in my stories.

Congratulations on page views. Wonderful news about the tooth (smile) I'm happy for you Lexa! Have a blessed weekend.

200K page views is awesome--congratulations! And good news about the dentist as well. I'm going in May for a check-up, and I'm already nervous as I haven't been to the dentist in years

Cathrina Constantine said...

Lexa, so glad you were able to keep your tooth!!!!

Sue Bursztynski said...

Glad to hear about the tooth. I have a crown, though also one tooth out. Neither was too bad, but both expensive! Congrats on the page stats. When mine hit the 100,000(or was it 200,000?) I decided to celebrate with a giveaway and had precisely one entry. :-( I'm sure you'll do much better. And looking forward to seeing your final choice of cover.

Lena -

A crown is good! I'm happy for you! I voted on the covers, a d it was hard to choose! I'll be interested to see which you choose... (Well done with the views! People tend not to go places they don't enjoy...)

I am close to you in page views, but wonder how many are from me. I keep checking "do not count my own views", but that choice does not stay permanently. I am happy that so many people comment and I can say I have friends from all over the world. That is what it is all about.

I just voted on your cover. They were all good and hard to choose just one.

Wow, that's amazing! Congrats on all those views! I admit to not keeping track. One of these days I'll have to check, just out of curiosity.
I'm glad you get to keep your tooth. I've had a crown or two, and as unpleasant as it is to have them put on, it's better than losing the tooth.
That's great that you've had so much response to your cover poll. I was thinking about #8. I know I said I'd like to see some red in it to go with the blood in the title, and I wondered what it would look like with blood dripping from the tree-branch claws. Just a thought.
Have a great weekend!

I'm at 172,461. Yes, I do get a kick out of watching it go up and seeing where the hits come from. I know people are busy, so I am more than excited to see they take a bit of time to visit me.

I was bragging to a friend about your covers. I'm very impressed.

That's great about the page views and saving your tooth. Have a fantastic weekend.

Congrats on all the page views! That's amazing. And I can't wait to see the results of your cover poll. All the covers you created are so impressive!

Lexa,

You sure have some great loyals following you, like Julie, Alex, and Diana-my cohort of Egyptian HF.

As to the tooth fairy, I always say, "cherish your dentist." Without his artistry, "some of us" would be little old toothless ladies. Instead, we can smile brightly and lie about our age (with some assistance of L'Oreal Golden Blonde). Although, I've been known to grab the wrong shade off the shelf scaring the dickens out of my cat!

Good luck with the "Cover War." You had some great samples...but I still like #8 best.

Cathy Keaton said...

Congrats on all the pageviews! Also, good luck with choosing a great cover.

Joylene Nowell Butler said...

Thanks for the links, Lexa. I visited Gen's page. I also took a peek at my stats. I have over 514K. Had no idea it was that large, but I have been doing this a long time. I don't generally look. I have my small group of followers who give me wonderful support. I'm always grateful to them. That includes you.

Congrats on the milestone! I do look at my blog stats- it is always fascinating to see where people are looking at the blog from. Statistics in general fascinate me and I try to figure out if there is a reason when all of a sudden one country shoots up in the stats. I don't check them all the time, but I do look at them from time to time!

Awesome that you have had people voting on the covers. Almost 100 voters- wow! Can't wait to hear which one you pick. :)

Yay on the crown. I know. I put the above the page views, but I totally hear you on what quiets pain.
And YAY on the page views! That's awesome! It takes so much work to keep a blog going AND drive people to it. That's fabulous!

Beverly Stowe McClure said...

That's a lot of page views. Congratulations. Proof you have a great blog that people like to read. Guess I ought to check my visits.

Great news that you just need a crown. Not that crowns are exciting. I'm with you on the pain, though.

kimlajevardi.com said...

It's over 201,000 now. Congrats! Good news about your tooth as well. I'm curious about the cover--can't wait to see the verdict. :)

Libby said...

Congratulations on 200k!

Misha Gerrick said...

Congrats!

I used to watch my stats almost obsessively, but nowadays, I put more emphasis on the quality of interaction. :-)

mshatch said...

I sort of keep track of my page views and yay for keeping your tooth!

cleemckenzie said...

Hurray for your rising totals. That's such a boost for bloggers. People actually want to read what you write.

Congrats on keeping that tooth, too. The idea of losing one of those gems is terrifying.

J.H. Moncrieff said...

Congrats! I used to keep track, but I found I read into it too much. And if you have a post go semi-viral, your numbers TANK afterwards.

I can only keep putting out the best content I can and keep building relationships with other bloggers. It's the one thing I have control over when it comes to blogging.

cheerfuloptimistic said...

Congrats on the pageviews, and keeping your tooth.

Dianne K. Salerni said...

Hurray! Good for you! And I'm glad you get to keep your tooth. Looking forward to seeing the chosen cover.

Yes, I keep tabs on the stats for my website. I want to know how many people are looking, what pages they're looking at, and where they're from.

I did get all excited once when I saw a viewer was coming from Hachette during a time when I had a book on sub. But nothing came of it. :(

S.A. Larsenッ said...

Congrats on all the wonderful hits! Major milestone...very cool. So glad you saved your tooth. As a former dental assistant I know I shouldn't say this but I despise going to the dentist.

Loni Townsend said...

Yay for the views but even yayer for the tooth! Pulling would've been a pain in the...mouth?

Deanie Humphrys-Dunne said...

All of the covers were beautiful but I voted for #3. Hope you have a great week.
