Celebrate: Big Thanks to Lynda & Lots of Giveaways!

This has been a good week for me!  I'm celebrating:
1)  In response to my IWSG "Cover Fear" post, Lynda Young (WIP It blog) did such a kind thing -- she offered to look at my covers and give me some professional feedback on the art.  She even offered suggestions and examples.  She was loads of help. Huge thanks to Lynda!
2)  I've tested one poll app, which only accepted 3 of 4 CP's test votes.  Uh-oh.  Time to try out a new app -- but better I discovered it by testing now rather than when the cover poll goes live at the end of the month.
3)  In the past few months I've noticed that several of my loyal blog visitors and blog hop members have bought and reviewed some of my ebooks, even though I wasn't promo-ing or yelling "Buy it!" from the rooftop (which would be a bad idea anyway since I'm scared of heights. LOL!).  I'm pleased and so touched to be surrounded by supportive and generous people!!
4) To make up for no giveaways last week, I found a bunch for you this week!  :)

Have you ever published something on your blog only to discover later that the app or links or images were messed up?  Did you rush back to fix it or take a C'est la Vie attitude?

I post too many videos. I know Youtube links tend to die with regularity, and I've fixed one or two, but there are too many at this point; I don't want to spend a day relinking something in a post that's 3 years old. Have a great weekend!

That's awesome how Lynda helped you. Yes, we are really a supportive writing community.

Lynda is just awesome that way.
Hope you find an app that works.

That's awesome that you got help on the covers.
I always have to go back and fix things, even if it's just a typo. I don't post too many images but if they were screwed up, I'd definitely have to fix those too.

Congrats on all the sales and reviews! Sounds like you've had an amazing week. Best of luck finding a poll app that works properly!

Wonderful that Lynda was able to help with your covers. Such a great bunch of supportive folks out in blogland.
Congrats on those good reviews too :)

Gah... Yes, with the tech. I sent out a newsletter last year to over 7K people and forgot to make the webpage the first, and main story linked to live before I sent it. Not my finest moment.... I hope you find a poll programme that works and I can't wait to see the new, improved covers.

Ah, technology! :-) Never mind, I'm sure it will sort itself out. Well, not so much the problems you've had, but I ebooked(with a simple app on my iPad) some of the interviews on my site and a few short stories that had already been published which I thought my readers might enjoy, and put up links on my blog. The thing is, you have to go through Dropbox and that can get complicated. And things change on Dropbox and in the end, I went back to the book pages and put in instructions. Oh, and there was a site that let you ebook your stuff free, then the site owner decided to go paid, which was fair enough, but the OLD ebooks no longer worked and I had to rejig them myself.

Never mind. It's all more or less sorted. The books are still there.

Lexa, what a nice surprise to find your books are selling without promoting your work. Whenever I have something wrong on my posts I try to fix it immediately. It drives me nuts, if I leave it unattended. lol Have a good weekend!

Stuff that doesn't work bothers me, because i feel like i'm leading people on a wild goose chase when i've recommended or used it, and it's not correct. So glad you got the feedback you were looking for!

That was sweet of her. I do love the blogging community. I know there is a debate over whether or not it sells books, but I've decided that doesn't matter. The true benefit of blogging is the friendships and support you find here.

Good luck with the app stuff! Glad to hear you're getting feedback on your covers :)

I freak when I make a mistake on my blog. You'd think that would make it better or less mistakes, but....nawwwww.

What a great week for you! Well, minus the app thing. Hate it when there are bugs messing things up. Of course, it never happens to me...if only.

Blessings Lexa (smile) Glad all is well in your world. Enjoy your weekend!!

The blogging community is so supportive. I didn't know this amazing fact when I first started blogging and I was blown away by how many people in this world are so nice and supportive.

Thanks for sharing the giveaway and Claudia Must Die promotion.

Have a lovely weekend.

That's great that you got help with your covers! I love how people are so helpful and supportive of the IWSG, it makes me so happy tone a member :). If I mess up a link or anything, I've got to go back and fix it and soon as I notice - I just can't leave typos or broken links!

Lynda's great and that's a perfect example of why I could never give up this community - I don't think I've ever been around so many supportive and kind people!
I am looking forward to seeing your covers. How great that you've had some nice sales and reviews too. Happy weekend!

Congrats on the sales and reviews of your e-books! That's great news!
Lynda is really helpful...our online community is wonderful.

Good luck experimenting with the Apps.
The technology buzzword is Apps...one of these days they'll invent an App Manager which is a special app gadget that will manage all the apps! And that designer/inventor will be very, very rich. Unless this App Manager already exists?

Aw, thanks Lexa. It's been fun helping out too.

When I find out it's not working I try to fix it or delete it altogether. So irritating!

So glad you found some help with your design cover, I knew you would! :)

Yay for the cover love! It's always great to get a new pair of eyes on things.
And yay for sales and reviews =)

yay you deserve an awesome week like that! always! And yep I do that all the time with blog mess-ups. I just brush it off because I'm too much of a perfectionist already so if I went there all the time I'd go insane lol

I am so glad that you were offered professional advice about your book covers- what a huge help! Also, I am glad the poll problems were realized before you started using it on your blog- definitely less stressful that way. :) Good luck with the next trial. I am looking forward to voting. :)

My hubby and I attended a publishing course around the time I was getting interest from publishers, so I took a more active hand in my cover design--and thankfully my publisher let me. There's nothing as important as a good cover.

So anytime there's even the smallest typo I rush back to my blog and fix it. I don't typically promote new technology so I haven't had any issues in that regard. How frustrating!
