Celebrate the Small Things: 9/27

Minions from "Despicable Me"

My week has been uneventful.  I'm still working on writing projects, doing some critiques for my group, commenting on blogs, and trying to keep up with chores.  The chores (yuck!) usually get done last (if at all).

I NEED MINIONS!!!

Since I don't have any yet, I'm celebrating the fact that I've managed to think up some effort-saving steps and multitasking I can do to save myself time, like cooking large amounts and freezing some (stop laughing all you housewives who've known this for years), and solving plot problems while I clean.

If you had minions, what would you have them do?
What would you do with the free time?

This post is part of VikLit's blog hop, Celebrate the Small Things. To be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is follow the link and put your name on the Mr.Linky list, and then be sure to post every Friday about something you're grateful  for that week.  It can be about writing or family or school or general life.  This is the funnest and easiest blog hop ever!

Chores are overrated.
I can clone some Minions for you if you want...

I think we could all use some minions! All that pesky (but necessary) day-to-day stuff always seems to get in the way of creative time...

Nick Wilford said...

Aha, so Alex has revealed that he does in fact have cloning facilities!

I wouldn't mind minions to pay bills and deal with financial affairs, as that's a big time suck and also involves a headache and a lot of effort. At least with cleaning you can zone out to more interesting matters!

If I had minions, I'd definitely keep them busy with housework and cooking. And maybe give them writing tasks so I could sit back on Facebook and Twitter.

I love those minions, and I could do with some of those. Alternatively, the chores don't get don't and I don't mind :D

I have dwarves but they are not always useful. Sometimes they just give more work. T ake Alex's offer!

Oh, yes! Minions would do all my housework, as well as go grocery shopping and pack it all in for me and put it away. I hate that part!

Oh I would love to have minions! Especially those minions! I'd have them go to work for me, but I suspect I'd probably get fired after they had their way in the office, lol.

The minions are so cute. I'd have them cleaning house and mowing the lawn!

Where do I begin? My minions would cook, clean, drive the kid to school, pick her up, walk the dogs, screen my phone calls, answer emails, grocery shop, separate & take recycling to center, and do the laundry.

All so I can find more time to write.

I would love a few minions, would make them do everything so I can just concentrate on writing. If Alex is cloning minions to give away, then I too want a few.

Minions can always do my housework, it's one of those thankless things we have to do. But wouldn't they get underfoot? And, are they noisy?

btw - I like cooking two meal dinners, but couldn't do that when kids still lived at home. They always ate the leftovers.

I'd love a few minions to do my housework and maybe weed the garden. Gardening never gets done because I hate it and never have any time for it.

I do need Minions!
They need to take care of the housework and laundry while I take care of the kids, read/write, and watch TV lol

I want to put a bid in on some minions, too! I occasionally can snag some at work, and they are magic! I'd definitely have them cooking for me (healthy and tasty, please!) and lots of cleaning. Then maybe I'd actually get some sleep!

I want some minions! It might be some work to keep them in line, but they'd make life fun and hopefully easier!

I would LOVE to have minions!!!!!

I would have them keep my house clean and uncluttered. And do the laundry - including folding and putting away. And one would be assigned to each dog for all the door openings and closings and 'no bark' commands.

Thanks for letting me daydream :)

I could do with some too! Think of all the jobs they could do while you get on with the fun stuff, like writing! Have a good weekend :)

If I had minions I probably wouldn't have them do anything because I'd be too busy laughing all the time.

I would have the minions listen to my husband's stories, because, Lordy, Lordy, I have heard them all before - many times.

Ugh, I have some big chores to do next week. Why can't the house dust and vacuum itself?

Congrats on your small things! :)

Ella said...

Minions could clean while I craft, but they could also cook! ;D

Yes, congrats on all the great efforts!

I'm with you... I need minions to clean the house and cook so I don't have to do it:)

Please, please, share your minions. I need them SO bad. Have a great weekend.

Cooking and cleaning minions please. My husband and son would give them chocolate; they're sick of me saying I'll clean tomorrow. ;)

My minions would be cleaning, cooking, and doing laundry. I am so busy with work and everything else right now- that I could really use about 20 extra hands helping me get everything under control.

I keep telling myself that I will start making more food so I can freeze some for future meals. Still hasn't happened! Good luck!

Minions could be useful scrubbing the dreaded toilet bowls, and putting the basement in order. I will be canning applesauce and beets in due time, between writing of course.

Cleaning the house for me too. It's such a waste of time. Just gets dirty again and has to be done over and over. :)

I could really use some minions too :)

I DO have minions! They are called Daughter 1 and Daughter 2.
They really are a big help. They clean up after I make dinner. Sometimes, if I'm really crunched for time, they make dinner too. They take out the trash. They do their own laundry (but only after the dirty clothes in their closet reaches the point of density where the creation of a black hole is possible).
I'm lucky to have them.

Kim said...

If I had minions I'd make them go to work for me so I could write all day. And clean for me. And cook for me. Pretty much do everything I don't want to do. Now I really wish I had minions...

Unknown said...

I would definitely have my minions cook and clean!

Stephen Tremp said...

You could be like Michael Keaton in Multiplicity and clone yourself to get things done.

Julie Flanders said...

Love the minions!! I definitely need some to clean for me. I hate housework so much.

Hope you enjoyed your weekend, Lexa. :)

Ruth Schiffmann said...

Oooo, I would be so pleased to have minions cook dinner each night. My best writing time is late afternoon and I always have to stop to make dinner.

M Pax said...

I could really use minions myself.

Jocelyn Rish said...

The minions are so adorable that I would just sit around all day watching them and laughing. So I would be even LESS productive. :-)

Somehow my comment didn't post. I'll try this again.

Chores are the last thing on my list! Free time? What the heck! Things I don't do, or not enough of, in order to have free time: exercise, chores, get enough sleep, visit as many blogs as I'd like, write as much as I'd like, watch as much tv as I'd like.... I think that's it. :) Writer’s Mark

I need minions too! And a really smart intern who can write letters and press releases for me! :) And the heck with the dustbunnies.

If I had minions they would do the housework and organize and pay the bills so I can do everything else more leisurely and with less tress.

My minions would take care of our "garden". We have a piece of overgrown land surrounding our house, full of thorny bushes, tall dry grass and pitfalls. I would have them transform it in to a romantic country garden, while I watched movies, read books in front of the fire, baked and cooked and decorated the house :)

I keep stopping by searching for your usual smile-inducing post, and yet you've disappeared this week (or perhaps, less dramatically, you're delayed). Hope you're well and Celebrating something wonderful. X

I'd send them off to do errands, and also to wander over to Facebook whenever they were so inclined. That way, I'd have no excuses to not write.

Have a great Friday and weekend, Lexa.
