Celebrate - New Laptop

Guess what??!! Hubs bought me a new laptop for New Year's (after my trusty old laptop -- which was "only" about 10 years old -- crashed! LOL) and I'm super grateful.

However, the old laptop had all my most-visited links on it -- put into the bar below the https address line (I can't remember what you call that thing...).

Sadly, putting links onto the new laptop's bar is only half my problem. My other problem is I have trouble remembering most of the links due to my illness (arteriosclerosis).

But happily, I'm actually getting better slowly but surely. My doctors told hubs and I that I might never regain my memory/thinking abilities. However, I've always been a determined person -- a VERY determined person! -- and little by little I am improving. Yay!

So glad that you are improving and feeling better. A good attitude and determination sometimes can help a lot with health challenges. I've seen that over the years dealing with my late husband's constant health problems. Glad you're around more. Missed you!

It's always hard to get the new computer/laptop/device set up like the old one, isn't it? Keep your spirits up and keep working, it's good to see you back in the blogiverse!

Ya for a new laptop and improving health. I got a new laptop last summer and it's taken me a while to get everything the way I like it.

A new laptop is always something to celebrate, even if it is often frustrating. So glad you're starting to feel better. Fingers crossed you continue to improve. I hope we see you around more often now you have a new computer. Miss you!

I have nightmares about losing my links.

Sent you and important email last week!

Determination is what it takes in almost anything computer-ish. When I upgraded to High Sierra on my Apple, it wiped out all my contacts, and I'm still doing battle with Apple Mail. It's enough to make a grown woman turn childish and throw a tantrum. Actually, I did. Not proud of it, but it helped.

Yay for a new laptop. Sad on losing the links. Blogger has been having comment problems lately, sometimes it just times out on me.

I had that problem of getting all those links and such over onto my new computer. It takes a while, but it's worth it. Enjoy your new laptop!

I am sending lots of healing love your way, my friend. Take your time updating your computer, and know that it isn't just you who has the hardest time updating files into a new computer. My husband bought me a new laptop for Christmas, and he even bought the program that is supposed to move all your files over easily. Well....he has been doing a lot of cussing this past month. I told him that I'm staying on my old desktop until he gets the laptop up and running.

I have been so slack in visiting blogs. Seems being retired does not give a person more time. Anyway, good to hear you are getting along and have a new laptop. As nice as it is to have a new laptop it is a lot of work and frustration to set it up the way you want. Somehow it gets done.

Glad to hear about your healing and perseverance!

I am so happy you are doing better and determined to continue to heal. New computers are so much fun, but losing links is not. Have a lovely rest of your week :)

Your husband sounds wonderful! He's like Husband of the Year or something.
I'm glad you're doing better. I sometimes have problems with my memory if I accidentally eat gluten which I have an intolerance for. My husband and I have been watching videos on eating healthier. We are trying to eat vegetarian and vegan as much as we can even though we haven't done it 100%. Maybe you should take notes on which foods improve your memory and which foods cloud it. It might help. Just a thought.

My friend from China told me that there was a man long ago who took notes on how his body reacted to each food he ate. He noted how some foods raise your body temperature and others lower it. He called them "hot" and "cold" foods. For instance, tangerines would be a "hot" food and "oranges" might be a "cold" food. People in China pass this information down to their children, so they automatically know which foods to eat to help their body. So, if you catch a cold in the summer, you would eat certain types of food to cool your body down. If you catch a cold in the winter, you would eat food to warm your body up. Something like that. It's too bad all that knowledge isn't written in a book. She said there wasn't one in English anyway.

Congrats on your new laptop! Have a great weekend!

I have a new computer as well and I kind of miss my old one even though the new one has so many new features. Part of me wonders if I will be able to write on this new one. What if the old one was somehow magical?

Best of luck on your continuing recovery. Sounds like you are working hard.

Lexa, I'm glad you're determined to improve your memory. Who knows the triggers positivity brings. I wish you every success with your new laptop. I know I'd hate to lose mine...:-)

Hi! I'm so glad you're back. I was worried about you. My brother-in-law had 3 strokes in August, and yes, it's a long road to recovery. Baby steps ...

I used to do the Celebrate the Small Things blog hop, and I'd like to sign up again, but I don't see any way of adding my link. Couldn't figure it out at the co-host sites, either. Thanks!
