I tend to listen to audiobooks when I'm doing housework - I've tried listening to them while driving, but I get distracted and end up missing chunks of the story.

That's worthy of a celebration. Have a great weekend!

Lexa,

I celebrate your book audio giveaway with you. I retweeted it for you. Hopefully, this will help you. I don't listen to audiobooks because I have a difficult time follow them. I'm not sure if it's due to some hearing loss or just my mind can't focus on the words but regardless of which it is, I don't listen. I think it's a wonderful idea, though. I should try this sometime while using my elliptical. Have a good weekend!

Awesome giveaway. I've been wondering if I should try audiobooks while I'm doing household chores and such, but have been procrastinating on trying. ^^;;

I haven't listened to an audiobook for years. My friend told me they're fantastic when you can't sleep in the middle of the night, so I might try one to see if it helps...

My husband and I used to check out audio books at the library for road trips. It was fun as a family, but I can see doing it with ear plugs weeding the garden, cleaning house, on walks and so many other places. Thanks for the audio book offer. Have a nice weekend!

I retweeted to win the audiobook! That may be one of the few times I've ever retweeted anything. I'm not to savvy with Twitter.

I listen to audiobooks and podcasts while I'm doing housework or drawing, so that's pretty much every day. I love them!

I hope I win because June 7 is my birthday! One day off...

I retweeted. What's it like to listen to your book read by someone else?

I first started listening to audio books when as I was working as a health department collections driver back in the day. The job involved a lot of driving, and particularity for the northern run, I had quite a few hours on the road so I decided to give audiobooks a go. So glad I did. The first one I listened to was the debut Sherlock Holmes novel, A Study In Scarlet. I actually became so engrossed at one point I drive through a red light. No harm done fortunately, but I learned to also pay attention tot he road as I listened.

I don't do any long haul driving these days so I haven;t listened to an audiobook for ages.

Congrats! I saw this earlier this week and tweeted right away. I'm just getting into audiobooks - a newbie. I'm hoping to listen to them while doing chores. Got to add some fun to those somehow. :)

I enjoy listening to audio books when I'm tired and relaxing on the sofa. They give my eyes a rest while I'm still "reading" a story.

Joylene Nowell Butler said...

Congratulations, Lexa. That's a generous offer. And about your publisher, I totally agree. It's great to have someone in your corner during the good times and the bad. Best to you.

Celebrating Diane and Freedom Fox Press is such a lovely thing to do. She was so easy to work with on the IWSG anthology that I can see why y ou featured her this week.

I just realized that I never answered the question:

I tend to listen to audiobooks EVERYWHERE. I listen to them most commonly in the car, when I'm biking, or when I'm at the gym. However, I will generally listen in just about any situation where I can't actively read or occupy my mind because, as my wife says, I have zero patience and will lose my mind if left to my own accord.

Crystal Collier said...

I tweeted. =) So I used to like listening to audio books. I'd listen while making dinner and folding laundry and driving... And now all the ears in my house are too adept. Unless I'm wearing earbuds, or the like, I don't dare. And truthfully, those things are so uncomfortable, and I can finish the same book--just reading it--in 1/4th the time, or less. *shrugs* There will probably be another season when I like audio books, but they're a little hard right now.

I love audiobooks! I listen to them every time I have a spare minute. :) Entered!

I love audiobooks! I used to have a long commute and audiobooks were the only saving grace for said commute.
