This week passed by in something between a whirlwind and a buzz saw. Straining to research and get out queries to book bloggers (while personalizing each and trying not to sound like I'm begging), I've gotten by on way too little sleep. Like 3-4 hours a night. I've found emails from 1 or 2 reviewers that requested, and I sent out the ARC copies, and yet I look at the emails and have zero memory of doing it! :O
And with the plethora of books hitting the market, refusals are more common than ever, but you have to keep trying, no matter how late you go to bed.
So it was incredibly satisfying to have my week end on such a bright note!
A Top 10 Goodreads reviewer read BLOODWALKER in only 2 days, wrote a phenomenal review, and actually used the word "brilliant" twice!
I normally don't put up anything about reviews or rankings or whatever. But this very first review of BLOODWALKER is more than I could have hoped for -- I'm floored -- and it's too awesome not to share!
The novel doesn't come out till October, but stay tuned for next week's post -- there's going to be a special surprise!

That is incredibly awesome news! Congratulations, Lexa! Your very hard work paid off! Wow, you are such an inspiration!
Congrats on the review. Many more reviews are coming your way.
Well done, fabulous. Congratulations. Love the GIF you added too. It made it just a bit more exciting.
That's awesome! The first great review is always exciting.
Now, get some sleep this weekend.
Excellent review--what a way to start the weekend!
YAY!!!! Fabulous!! Reviews are nail biters, and to get your first glowing one is the best!!! Congrats!
Congrats on the super review!! Whoo hoo! Looking forward to next week's news.
Glad to hear about your review. I know how important reviews are and am trying to get better at reviewing books in a timely fashion. If I write enough reviews, maybe my books will get more reviews. Or at least that's the theory.

Lexa, WOW, 4-5 hours of sleep per night! I'd be like the Walking Dead, if I did that. Shoot, there are some nights I get 8 hours and I'm wiped out the next morning! I'm a mind-numbed Zombie when I get little sleep or whatever my body deems as not enough for whatever reason. Oh well...I know you're busy, busy, busy with your book. An amazing book review is too hard to not share. I'm glad you got such a glowing review. *applauds* Just let me know how I can help you, my friend. I'm ready to jump in there to promote your work! ;) Have a glorious weekend, dearie, and thanks for hosting the Friday fun!

Congratulations on that stellar review. Such a feather in your cap.
Congratulations on the awesome review. Great way to start for a fantastic release.
That is a wonderful review! Congratulations!
Congratulations on a great review. You have earned it big time. Now, you need to rest because you don't want to get sick...listen to your body
Your great news has me grinning from ear to ear!
That's wonderful news! And yes, a good idea to personalise your inquiries. As a book blogger I never reply to any inquiry that begins with "Hi. My name is ... and here's a sample from my wonderful book XYZ." Even more irritating is the inquiry from a paid marketer that tells me they love my blog but they clearly haven't read it, except the page that has my email on it. I don't reply because I know they sent the same message to about 100 other blogs, just changing the name. But I am sometimes tempted to reply: "So glad you love my blog! Why aren't you following it, in that case?" I don't, but it's tempting. But when I get a personalised inquiry, I reply, even if the person isn't a follower(as long as they don't tell me they love my blog), even if there is no way I would review the novel whose badly spelled sample has been sent to me. I might at least give them a guest post(would you like one, Lexa?) - as long as they address me personally and have clearly read my guidelines.
Congratulations, Lexa. I'm very happy for you. What a great start to your week-end!
Wonderful news! I'm so glad they liked your book!
Now try to get some sleep! :)
Awesome review, Lexa. Congratulations. It should attract a lot of attention for readers. A great beginning. Now relax and enjoy the weekend.
Yay! Congratulations! I hope you're celebrating...well, after you get some sleep.
PS I wasn't meaning to imply that YOUR novel is badly spelled! But I would be happy to give you a guest post, given that my TBR list is way too long. Let me know if you're interested.
Awesome news on the great review :)
Fabulous!! Awesome when a stranger likes and submits a good review of your book :)
Only other writers know how thrilling it is to receive a good review, and to hear someone you don't know, say how good you are and how much they enjoy your work. Good on you Lexa. I loved Soul Cutter and I will be buying and reading Bloodwalker.
this is such AWESOME news, Lexa!!!! Huge congrats and hugs! <3 so well deserved!
A truly amazing review, but not surprising! You are a great writer. Your subject is well researched and your characters awesome! Well deserved.
I'd love to host you!!!!

That's awesome Lexa! Try to stay calm and enjoy! Reviews are our bread and butter!
Wow, that *is* a good review! Congratulations, Lexa!!
Hurray! And double hurray! That's fabulous news. I know this is going to be a wonderful break through for you!
I'm so happy for you, Lex! Now get some sleep.

That was totally worth losing sleep to get that review!! How awesome!! Congratulations.
How sad is it that 3-4 hours of sleep sounds like a lot to me? Heh.
And that's beyond fantastic news about Bloodwalker! Congrats on receiving such an amazing review!
