Reborn Blog Tour & Giveaway & Celebrate

Reborn Blog Tour

Are you ready to challenge Fate?

To save a kingdom, a prophetess must challenge Fate.

On the day of Yssa’s death and rebirth, the god Apenth chose her as the Phoenix Prophetess.

Sea serpents and gods endanger the young prophetess’s journey and sour the omens. Yssa is cursed instead of blessed, and her duties at the Temple of Apenth prove it. She spends her days reading dusty scrolls, which does nothing to help her forget Tym, the boy back home. But the annoying yet gorgeous ferryman’s son Liam proves to be a distraction she can’t predict, even though he rarely leaves her alone for two sand grains.

Her boring temple life screeches to a halt when visions of her parents’ murders consume her. Yssa races across an ocean to stop the future. If she can’t change Fate, she’ll refuse to be the Phoenix Prophetess any longer. Fate, however, has other plans for her and the kingdom.

Yssa must either accept her destiny or fight to change Fate.

CELEBRATE THE SMALL THINGS

My apologies to those bloggers I haven't visited recently and for blog posts I've missed (like IWSG).  It started almost two weeks ago when instead of celebrating my birthday for a week, I was laid low by heat exhaustion, including vertigo and other symptoms too gross to mention.  I'm doing a bit better now, but still not 100%...

This week I'm celebrating:
1) I may be sick but I'm STILL ALIVE!!  And I hope to be back to normal by July ... except that July and Aug are the hottest months in Egypt.  Argh.
2) Writer extraordinaire Dianne Salerni interviewed me on her blog: Soul Cutter: Interview with Lexa Cain. Please stop by and said hi.
3) I'm also celebrating the release of REBORN. Congratulations Cherie Reich!

My fav season is fall.  My least fav is summer.  (Too darn HOT!!) What are your fav and least fav seasons?

This post is part of VikLit's blog hop, Celebrate the Small Things. To be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is follow the link and put your name on the Mr.Linky list, and then be sure to post every Friday about something you're grateful  for that week.  It can be about writing or family or school or general life.  This is the funnest and easiest blog hop ever!

Good to hear you're feeling better... you may need to stay indoors for the next two months:)

I hope you get your week's worth of birthday when you are properly recovered.
Hugs

Congrats to Cherie!!

Nice to see you back, Lexa, hope you continue to feel better. Best of luck to Cherie.

As for favorite season...hmmm, tends to be whatever season we're in at the moment, hah ha. I suppose I'm most partial to autumn, actually. It's such a great season, though it comes a little too early where I'm living now.

Sorry you've had heat exhaustion! Yuck.
I'm with you. Summer is too hot. We've not as hot here, but very humid. No fun.

Cathrina Constantine said...

A friend of mine gets terrible vertigo and the symptoms landed him in the hospital for a day. Hope you're better soon. Fall is my favorite time also!!

Inge H. Borg said...

Poor Lexa - and here I thought all the while you were celebrating your birthday with champagne and caviar.
By the way, nice interview over at Dianne's blog. Your "Soul Cutter" sounds great.
Stay cool - and I mean it.

Congrats to Cherie on this latest release. Seeing lots of promo for that.

And sorry to hear you were/are not well. But, hey, we share a birthday week. Mine was two weeks ago too. :)

Feel better!

messymimi said...

Hope you continue to feel better in spite of the heat, and that book sounds fabulous!

I'm way behind on my blog commenting too . . . somehow I'll catch up. It might take me all summer . . .but somehow.

I'm a little odd. I don't have a least favorite season. I like them all for different reasons. But I do love summer best because in the Pacific Northwest it's the best time of the year with wonderful temperatures and some blue skies. It never gets that hot here, but in the summer we get to be a little less damp.

Jeff Chapman said...

Sorry to hear you're suffering from the heat. I love fall too. I can't stand being hot. Love that cover for Reborn.

Stephanie Faris said...

So glad you're hosting Cherie, but sorry you're having health problems. I didn't know heat could bring on vertigo.

Loni Townsend said...

Hope you get to 100% soon!

Summer is my favorite season. But you can avoid the heat in some areas around here, which makes it survivable.

L.G. Keltner said...

Glad to hear you're still alive! Hope you feel 100% soon! I love summer, but it can be extreme sometimes. Heat exhaustion is terrible. I've had it, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. Hang in there!

cleemckenzie said...

There's nothing worse than too hot! Glad you're back on your feet and staying cooler.

I'll stop by to see your interview. Glad you posted that link.

Congrats again to Cherie.

Birgit said...

Great post to showcase this book which looks like a great read and Cherie should be proud:) I am glad you are feeling better and slowly climbing out of this bad illness. I can relate to this totally although I have been this past year. My favourite is spring-the flowers, the smells and birth of life. My least is summer-it can be so sticky and hot and I don't like the heat. My 2nd is fall-the changing colours-it is so beautiful and Winter is 3rd but I don't mind the snow and cold as one can wear a nice big parka and feel snuggly but I can't strip[ naked and dance in a fountain-never mind getting arrested but I would scare many, many people

I'm pleased to hear you're feeling better. Hopefully, the temps. fall below average this year. Unlikely, I know, but for your sake, I hope they do.

Great interview, Lex!

Congrats to Cherie!

Julia Thorley said...

Stay cool, baby. I like autumn best, too.

Lexa, thanks so much for hosting me during my blog tour. I hope you're feeling better. My favorite seasons are spring and fall because they are generally cooler, and I love the colorful changes of those seasons. Summer is way too hot, and I hate driving in snow/ice in winter.

Thank you, Lynda!

Thanks, JeffO!

Thank you, L.G.! I feel very fortunate the blogging community is so gracious with their blog space. :)

Aww, thanks, messymimi!

Thank you, Jeff! The talented Laura Sava created the cover art.

I'm glad she could host me as well, Stephanie.

Thank you, Lee (cleemckenzie)!

Aww, thank you, Birgit! I am pleased with how Reborn turned out.

Thank you, Kim!

Glad you're feeling better, Lexa :)

Glad you're feeling better. I like Spring and Fall best, although summer in NZ isn't too hot and I don't mind that either. Summer in Australia I could definitely do without....

Beverly Stowe McClure said...

So sorry you've been feeling poorly. Get well completely and relax under the air conditioner. Our Texas summers are hot too.

That is a gorgeous book cover.

It's a tie between spring and fall. I like them both for different reasons.

Take care of yourself.

Carol Kilgore said...

Huge congrats and best wishes to Cherie on her new book!

Take care of yourself. I hope you feel better soon.

Winter is my least favorite season, despite the fact that I LOVE Christmas. It's a toss up with the other seasons. I like a lot about each of them :) I guess I mostly like summer when the high temps are under 100F.

shelly said...

I can't say I like summer either. Florida winters are great!

Sunny Smith said...

That book sounds really interesting! I hope you feel better and can manage to stay cool:)

DMS said...

What an excellent post! I love this cover and am so happy for Cherie. This sounds like a book I will love. I can't wait to read it. :)

So sorry to hear you have been sick. I hope you feel back to normal soon. I can only imagine how hot it is in Egypt during the summer. Drink lots of water! :)

Yes, you are still alive and that means you can still turn it all around! I've been sick for the past two weeks myself, and still not back on track. It's so frustrating, but I'll get there, eventually. So will you, Lexa!

Stay cool, literally and figuratively. ;)

Rhonda Albom said...

Sorry you are sick, hope it passes soon. My favorite New Zealand season in Summer, as it is never hot here, but warmest in summer. It's winter now - too cold. Reborn sounds great, thanks for the intro.

Kimberly said...

I'm glad you're feeling better!

Congrats Cherie on her book release.

My favorite is fall, winter, and spring because they are all mild - least is summer. We have super hot summers too - but I guess I do enjoy the monsoon season a lot. :)

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been up to speed but I'm glad you're feeling better now.

Deanie Humphrys-Dunne said...

Hope you recover quickly, Lexa. I can imagine how hot it must get there.

Good to hear you're feeling better. I've myself been doing poorly too, and slacking on visits.

I have Cherie's book on my reader!

Dianne K. Salerni said...

Thanks for the interview opportunity and sending people my way!

I like to ski in winter. And I'm beginning to like biking in spring and fall. Which makes hot, sticky summer the least favorite season!

Unknown said...

Rebirth sounds awesome! I'm sorry to hear that you're sick, I hope you get better soon.

Heather R. Holden said...

Sorry you haven't been feeling well! I completely agree with you about fall, though. It's always been my favorite season!

Tara Tyler said...

so sorry about your under-the-weatherness! glad youre closer to 100% than before. i have been similarly down since school let out (2 1/2 wks ago!) was healthy all through year, then got hit by three illnesses in a row! almost back to normal...

fall is my fave too! lets brave the hot times together! (tho yours in egypt are way hotter than mine!) try to stay cool! and well!

Nana Prah said...

Yay for being alive. Get better soon. My least favorite season is winter and my most favorite is summer.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Summer can be brutal. I briefly had a low level heat stress problem once. The symptoms were terrible.

I'm so happy to see Cherie everywhere.

Shah Wharton said...

Sorry sickness got in the way of your birthday week Lexa. That sucks - you'll have to make up for it once you recover. It's horrendously hot here in Dubai too. Hate this time of year. Poor Bobby's paws burn on the pavements. :(

Get Well Soon!

Sorry to hear you were ill:( My fave season is fall too! I only like summer if I am next to a pool 24/7

Welcome back, Lexa. Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. Heat exhaustion is very dangerous so be sure to get some rest!
Thank you for sharing this awesome giveaway. I will be tweeting away throughout the week for you=)
My favorite season is summer but it's because I have Raynaud's syndrome. It's a really awful circulatory disease which affects my limbs. When the temperatures are below 65 outside, my fingers and toes turn white and go completely numb=( I used to love to ski and enjoy the colder months but this ailment has made me dislike them=(
I'm heading over to check out your interview! Feel better soon

Yay, Cherie!

I'm so sorry to hear you've been sick, Lexa. Sounds awful! I hope you are back to 100% soon. And I'm totally with you. I hate summer. I hate the long hot days and especially hate the humidity. Fall can never come soon enough for me. Take care!

Hi Lexa,

Yay, I finally get here. I told Cherie that I would follow her around like a starstruck groupie. I'm delighted her tour made it to your lovely site. I'm wishing Cherie much success and fulfilment with her book.

Lexa, I sure hope you are now back to 100%. And you have been interviewed on Dianne's blog. I shall attempt to say hi.

My favourite season is actually the summer in England. Of course, the English summer is the warmer part of the English winter.

Gary :)
