Relaxation

Sometimes the publishing business is slooowwww.  Sometimes it feels as if it's ground to a complete halt.  You can stress out, shoot off emails to your agent every fifteen minutes, and whine about it to anyone who will listen.  But those things will not make you friends.

So this week I'm celebrating things I did to de-stress.
1)  I relaxed,  spent time with friends,  did errands,  and watched TV.
2)  I dove into the TBR pile and read Blake Snyder's Save The Cat -- awesome! -- and a novel by my favorite author.
3)  I brainstormed with my BFF about new story ideas.
4)  And then I relaxed some more.

I hope the publishing logjam breaks free soon, but until then, it's all good 'cause I'm chillin'! :-)

This post is part of VikLit's blog hop, Celebrate the Small Things. To be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is follow the link and put your name on the Mr.Linky list, and then be sure to post every Friday about something you're grateful  for that week.  It can be about writing or family or school or general life.  This is the funnest and easiest blog hop ever!

Love all the positive things in this post! I agree, relaxing is far better than stressing, especially when it involves things like reading and brainstorming! :)

It's great to relax sometimes. I'm realizing that I need more of that too. Have a great weekend!

Yes, everything in the publishing world is abysmally slow. And the huge waiting times between all the steps in the process can drive you insane. But rest assured, when things happen, they WILL happen all at once with everything due at the same time!

Good. Just relax. Have some chocolate, too.

We don't do enough chillin'. Let the anxiety go for awhile and breath out. It is mighty good for the soul.

Taking time out is not always easy, but you deserve it... can't wait to read your new story... might have to bug you about it too:)

Nice legs. Are they yours?

I've seen this Celebrate bloghop, and it's great. The only thing that keeps me from doing it is the weekly schedule, not that I'm not grateful everyday. But the one thing I like about writing and working from home (at least at this point), is that I can set my own schedule. If it were monthly...I can handle that.

I love that photo. I want to be on that beach. Downtime is good for us. I can't remember the last time I didn't have my laptop glued to my lap - I must take your example and read a book!

Relaxing is good for the soul and the beach is one of my most favorite places to do it. Ah the sound of the surf, the smell of the sea, the sun the sand...it's like Heaven :)

Glad you're finding time to relax. I have client edits booked through mid-July so no relaxing for me, but I'm not complaining. Got to make a living. :)

Relaxation is so important! I loved this post because it reminded me to take the opportunities to relax when they present themselves. Right now I need to find some time to relax!

Sometimes "chilling" is the most productive thing you can do.

I like the sound of this! I need to read some books by my fave authors, too. I don't do that enough and I really like so few of the books I actually read.
