VikLit's Celebrate the Small Things

I'm not usually into blog hops because they often want too many days, have too many rules, or are too writer-centric.  But VikLit's new blog hop, Celebrate the Small Things, is so cute and self-affirming, I had to join!

It's easy to get tunnel vision about what's going wrong in your life, and you forget all the little things that are going right.  To be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is post every Friday about some small (or big) accomplishment for that week.  It can be about writing or family or school or general life.

This week, I'm grateful I got my January Horror Newsletter written for Writing.com.  I made a really nice Chicken Noodle with Bechamel casserole.  (It must have been really nice because Hubby ate half the casserole in one sitting! O.o)  And I've managed to finally get rid of a cold that's been dogging me for three weeks, due to a surprising mild break in the winter weather here in Egypt.

Yay for the small things! :-D

If you have small things to celebrate, go to VikLit's blog and join us by signing up on the Mr.Linky tool!

This is awesome. Love this idea! I'm posting three days a week right now and I don't know if I want to take on Fridays--but this sounds like a really fun idea. So, I'll have to think about it.

I have never heard of Bechamel. Is that something from your part of the world?

Yummy sounding recipe and yes! for conquering that clingy flu bug. We had it here at my house and with 6 people, it just ran it's course, person to person. So glad we are better.
Cheers! and Congrats!!

I'm so glad I haven't been sick this winter. And your casserole sounds delicious, just the thing for a frigid day like we're having here.

I'm glad you've recovered from your cold. Is it humid in Egypt? If so, I wonder if that had helped to relieve your congestion. And YAY for yummy casseroles!

Congratulations on the newsletter!
Bechamel sounds familiar, but I can't seem to place it? I'm off to google it quickly...

It's hard to write and be creative when you're under the weather. Glad you're feeling better.

This is a great idea. I'm going to have to look into this blog hop, since I'm always trying to remember the small things that go right for me, instead of always the bad. Congrats on your newsletter and the yummy casserole you baked. ;)

Casserole sounds good! I also judge the quality of my cooking by my husband's portion sizes, lol. I like the idea of celebrating the little things. Even when I have a terrible day (or week!) there's always a few redeeming things.

Oooh, could you share this recipe?! ;D

Oooo, chicken noodle with Bechamel~ sounds soooo good right now :) I am all about the little things lately. For instance, I did a little bit of school with my four-year-old AND got laundry done this morning while the baby was sleeping. Feeling like supermom, though my writing has suffered lately. I'll get organized by next month maybe...

Mmm, sounds good. And getting rid of that cold is a great victory. It stuck around here for a while too. Nasty cold!
