The Red Sea

Used with permission from Windgirls. com

I live on the Red Sea, one of the most beautiful places in the world. The water is a gorgeous turquoise and stays warm almost year-round. Unfortunately, I'm not a sun worshiper, and as far as water goes, I'm kind of a cat -- splashing around just isn't my thing.

However, I have friends who go out on boats, swim, snorkel, scuba dive and even take trips in glass-walled submarines. They tell me tales of swimming with dolphins, seeing schools of clown fish, and seeing brilliant coral reefs.

I may not be scuba diving anytime soon, but I sure like to look at pictures!

I'm probably like you... I'd say on the shore rather than go scuba diving. But seeing those fish would be amazing... do they see any sharks?

It looks gorgeous! I'm a swimmer and it sounds glorious. I may have to come and visit you some day, and drag you off to the beach for a splash!

Sponge barrels are cool. You can find them around Florida, Jamacia, and the Bahamas. Going under water is awesome.

It looks beautiful. I went snorkeling for the first time in March, off the coast of a small Bahamian island, and I loved it. I may have to put The Red Sea on my bucket list. :)

Those are lovely! I'm a lot like you, in that I tend to not do well in the sun, so I avoid it. I do enjoy wading in the water along the shoreline, though. :-)

Those are beautiful pictures! I wish I lived there LOL! Here in Ohio, it's mostly rainy and grey, we do occasionally get some really nice days though. Great post!

The pics are stunning... and these spots are right on my doorstep too!
I cannot swim (can you believe *sighs*?), but I L-O-V-E the sun!

I like the way you describe yourself as a cat. :)

Gorgeous photos! I almost drowned when I was little so I still panic underwater, but love to look at pics too. :)

What gorgeous pictures! Love them! I have always wanted to visit The Red Sea- how wonderful that you live so close. Even if you don't like the sun or swimming- the sea is so calming to look at. I am sure when it is getting toward dusk the sea is a sight to take in! I would love to have that view. :)

Wow! A glass-walled submarine would be awesome because from those pictures it is truly beautiful under the sea. I'm not much of a sun person either, though. :)

I'm not a swimmer or diver, but I like being by the water and being on boats. Lovely pictures.

These pictures are gorgeous! But I'm with you, water is to look at not immerse in, hehe - an my goodness you've got the most beautiful water to look at.

I sure like to look at these pictures, too. I'm gawking. Thanks for this post, Lexa. I feel more relaxed, having visited your blog.

Be well.

I did not know that. I'd love to check out the red sea. Who wouldn't, right? :)

I'm not really a swimmer either. Though at least if the water is warm I might dip a toe in. I don't know about swimming with the fishies, though they are very beautiful.

These pictures are beautiful. I wish I lived there. I love sunshine and water. I can't wait to move out of the tundra.

That does look beautiful. Too bad you dont like the water, but at least you can appreciate its scenic qualities. I'd love to dive there!

No scuba diving for me, but yes, this water looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the pix. I was swimming in the Aegean last month, also very turquoise and pure water.

Lexa, the photos are stunning. I live on a lake. Yesterday my granddaughter came running up to the house yelling that there was a big fish under the wharf and it had big sharp teeth. I haven't been able to sleep since. That has nothing to do with your post, I know. I haven't had my caffeine yet.

I'm with you on that. A person can enjoy the view without being a part of it ;)

I've always wanted to learn how to scuba dive. I was just up in the Orkney Islands and the water is remarkably clear up there. Diver go and swim around the scuttled German Imperial Fleet from World War One!
