Celebrate: New Year & Giveaways

It's not quite New Year's yet, but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year since I don't post on Sundays.

I'm thankful I was lucky in 2016, having a great new publisher and releasing one novel (Bloodwalker) to solid reviews and re-releasing another novel (Soul Cutter) a YA originally pubbed in 2013. I have another two coming in 2017, I hope! I'll definitely release my Alaskan thriller (Coldest Night) and will try to get my Paris thriller/mystery (Paris Underworld) out in 2017 too, though it may be 2018 before that one is officially released. (I have to learn to limit my social media time in 2017 otherwise nothing will be released! Ack!)

A number of friends haven't had a very good 2016, to them I wish a much better 2017!!

Do you spend too much time on social media? What do you do to limit your time there so you can get other things done?

Looks like you're well on the way to making 2017 a good one--Happy New Year, Lexa!

Blogger and Facebook are pretty much the only forms of social media I'm on. Since I blog once a week and don't follow a huge number of blogs, that's kind of self-limiting, and since I've been enjoying Facebook less and less as 2016 has gone on (and never liked it all that much to begin with!), it's pretty easy to not spend hours and hours there.

Happy New Year Lexa! Sounds like 2016 treated you well and I'm sure 2017 will do the same :-)

For the past few months I haven't been spending ENOUGH time on social media. As a person with Asperger Syndrome, social media is the only way I have of making friends, and staying off social media means I have no social contacts whatsoever, other than my mother. It makes me lonely and depressed.

But I'm getting back into the swing of things and have blogged three days in a row and checked my Facebook page for the same number of days. It seems like my social media friends still remember who I am.

Good luck with all your upcoming releases.
My hope is 2017 has less time spent in hospitals and more in front of the computer writing.

Wishing you a Happy New Year too, Lexa. I limit my time by taking short breaks away from blogging/twitter a week here or there helps me re-focus. I've never got into Facebook. I'm hoping to get stuck into writing in the new year so may have to limit some time online!

Sounds like you have a busy year ahead of you. Congrats on the books! The only "social media" I do is writing and reading blogs. That's enough! I am going to try to be more disciplined and keep my online time reasonable.

Happy New Year, Lexa. See you next year.

Happy New Year, Lexa! We'd get a lot more writing done without social media for sure. We all need to step back and consider slowing down if it means more words written.

I think we're all hoping that 2017 will be a better year, Lexa. Thanks for sharing all your news over the last 12 months, and I'm looking forward to reading more.

Happy New Year! How exciting that you plan to release two novels in a single year. I don't think I could ever be that ambitious, haha. Best of luck with 'em! And LOL, social media is such a time suck, for sure. We'd probably all get heaps more done if that weren't around... XD

Lexa, Happy New Year to you, my friend! I hope 2017 brings you many good blessings your way. I believe this new year holds a bright future. I'm looking forward to another year of continuing our friendship. God bless! ;)

When I'm stressed or have a lot on my plate, I can turn my back on social media. I'm a little more than perturbed that as I age, stress seems to be winning. I don't think I have yet to return to normal after my son's accident and now my Mom is showing signs of dementia (the conversations alone are enough to stress me out...she thinks my long dead father and great grandmother are in the house). Such is life!

Happy New Year, Lexa and God bless!

Happy New Year! Glad 2016 treated you well and here's wishing you an even better 2017.

I didn't get a lot of writing done (nor reading), but 2016 was a great year, anyway! I'll just make sure I actually get a lot of writing and reading done in 2017.
