Celebrate: Thank you & Giveaways

The Only Thing to Fear is --
Ducklings!

This week I'm celebrating:

1) My regular internet connection came back 4 days after the giant rain storm, so I won't have to go to their office and complain. Yay!
2) Even though it might seem I wasted my money paying for another connection when I only needed it for 4 days, there was no way to tell if the regular connection would come back after 4 days or 4 weeks.
3) If it would have happened on a Monday, maybe I wouldn't have freaked out. But it was on a Thursday when I write my Celebrate post! I treasure all the Celebrate The Small Things members and all those who stop by my blog.  I love reading everyone's posts, and I feel like I'd let you down if I disappeared and didn't post or visit.  In Jan 2015, when I took over hosting the Celebrate hop from VikLit, I wrote her: "Unless I'm in the hospital or dead, I promise to post every Friday and do my best to visit other participants." And I've done so every week for almost 2 years -- and no giant rain storm will ever stop me!

My sincere thanks to eveyone who visits my blog. You keep me motivated. You keep me going. You make it a pleasure to be in this blogging community! :)

There are 2 NEW RELEASES this week:

A murder enveloped in pain and mystery...

When Canada's retired Minister of National Defense, Leland Warner, is murdered in his home, the case is handed to Corporal Danny Killian, an aboriginal man tortured by his wife's unsolved murder.
The suspect, 60-year-old Sally Warner, still grieves for the loss of her two sons, dead in a suicide/murder eighteen months earlier. Confused and damaged, she sees in Corporal Killian a friend sympathetic to her grief and suffering and wants more than anything to trust him.
Danny finds himself with a difficult choice—indict his prime suspect, the dead minister's horribly abused wife or find a way to protect her and risk demotion. Or worse, transfer away from the scene of his wife’s murder and the guilt that haunts him...

You know, I'm old enough to remember life without the Internet and remember how excited I was when it first appeared. I went to the sole Internet cafe in my area weekly to do some research for my first couple of books. I wouldn't want to be without it now. :)

Yay for reliable internet! While I remember the world int he days before internet or cell phones or anything, I really can't imagine it now. Although it would occasionally be nice not to be contactable at all hours of the day and night….

Glad you have your internet back, amazing how much we rely on it now isn't it! I had a few days recently without it and it can certainly make things difficult! Thank you for being a fantastic host of the celebrations hop, Lexa. Happy weekend.

Glad to hear your net is back to normal. What a pain that must have been. And your thoughts on this blog hop or so sweet. But this is a wonderful group of people.

Lexa, I'm glad to hear you have internet connection again. We're fortunate to not lose ours very often and when we do it's usually only for a few hours, not days. Have a funtastic weekend, my friend and thank you for hosting the celebration fun!

I would be going stir crazy if the internet went down for 4 days.

Hard to believe a big cat would be so afraid of little ducklings.

I totally get it. That's a terrifying prospect to be disconnected, and I feel the same obligation to my readers/the authors I feature. Speaking of, thanks again for the listing. I appreciate it so much!

Hi, Lexa,

SO happy your internet has been returned. I certainly remember not having access for weeks once a few years ago and I went nuts.... especially since it was during the A-Z challenge. I had to post every day at the local McDonalds... ugh. LOL HAPPY WEEKEND!

SENCO Cat Herder said...

Just wanted to say how much your dedication is appreciated by us all but I was rather worried about you risking life and limb last week to ensure we could take part in Celebrate! Remember we are here for you too if you do need help but so happy that everything is back to normal :) Enjoy your weekend, Lexa.

Happy Days are back with the Internet.

Congratulations to Joylene and Chrys

Have a great week.

Wow, talk about dedication! Glad to hear your regular internet connection finally returned, and that you didn't have to do any complaining for that to happen. I had to deal with some pretty headachy customer service last month, so yeah, I can just imagine how relieved you must be to avoid something similar!

Julie Flanders said...

You never disappoint with the gifs! I wonder if this cat will ever be able to live this down? If any other cats were around watching I know the answer is not a chance.

Congrats to Joylene and Chrys!!

Haven't visited in awhile. Also haven't posted for Celebrate the Small Things lately. I guess life has intervened. You always have the most entertaining gifs - where do you find them? Thanks for highlighting new releases. I always learn about a few new authors from your posts. Visiting from the IWSG. www.dianeweidenbenner.com

Don't worry, next week you'll be feeling like the biggest hero ever because you'll have all the scenes sorted out and they'll be spectacular. Then you can pat yourself on the back again. :)
