This week I'm celebrating:
I finished doing my publisher's copy edits on Bloodwalker! It's funny how you can go over an ms 30 times and think it's clean -- but fresh eyes find things like you started off calling one minor character "Viktor" but later changed him to "Victor." Oops...
Today I'm also celebrating:
Blurb:
When a wall of their cave hideout crumbles, three boys discover a skeleton, clutching a treasure map. They set off to trace the story of an old murder, but stumble into a modern crime, and confront ancient Chinese dragons.

Woohoo on finishing the editor's edits:) Super excited and can't wait to see Bloodwalker released.
Congrats to C. Lee McKenzie on her new book... sounds fantastic. I love dragons:)
Well done on finishing the edits and congratulations to C. Lee. Mckenzie on her new release.
Awesome on finishing the edits. Hey, I accidentally called Byron Bryon in a couple places just because I hit the keys wrong.
Lee's book looks awesome!
I'm rather fond of Errol the swamp dragon in Terry Pratchett's Guards!Guards! Errol is a tiny dragon who flames backwards and manages to save the day with a huge dragon.
Congrats on completing your edits. It is funny how the writer misses so much that someone else can catch. Many pairs of eyes are good.
Congrats to Lee!!!
"Victor" vs. "Viktor": it's all in the pronunciation.
I can understand the Viktor/Victor mistake. When upset, I could look at my own children and call them by their sibling's name.
Well, I admit to being partial to Smaug in The Hobbit (the book) who was so devilishly clever.
Congrats to Lee :)
Yay on finishing those edits! And for outside eyes, heh. (don't know what I'd do without my outside eyes) C. Lee's book looks action-packed, great cover to draw those younger readers in!
My favorite fictional dragon has to be Vern the Dragon from Karina Fabian's series (Live and Let Fly, Greater Treasures.)
As for real dragons... but you are probably not interested in my little pest control problems. ;)
Good to be back to Celebrate after last month's A to Z blogging madness.

I didn't even catch the misspelling until the second time. LOL
Congrats C. Lee and editors are a great thing for writers to have Lexa.
Lexa, I agree it's always good to have a set or two of fresh eyes to review ones work. I'm not the grammar police and I certainly am not the best at, but it drives me nuts to see obvious trip ups in someone's writing. These sorts of problems are common in self-publishing works and I always think, did he/she have a good network of people to read his/her manuscript before it was deemed the final draft? *sigh* Oh well, it happens to everyone from time to time. At least your mistake was caught before hand. ;) Thanks for hosting the fun. Have a good weekend, my friend!
Congrats on finishing the edits. A second set of eyes is always great for finding those little details. Hope you have a great weekend!

Yay to getting through those edits. It is amazing how those little mistakes keep sliding through. Congrats to C. Lee! The story sounds great! And thanks for including my giveaway page. I had a few bugs, but they're worked out now ;) Have a great weekend!
Yay for finishing copy edits! At least you just went from Viktor to Victor. In my book I found a whole chapter where a character's name kept changing from Ropati to Isaiah and back again. It's a problem when even I don't know the character's name.
Can't call to mind any books about dragons that I have read in the recent past. But of course, being English, I was brought up on stories of how our patron saint, George, slew a troublesome dragon. The dragon is of course, the symbol of Wales and appears on the flag - and on rugby paraphenalia. Wonder is the legend was an extended metaphor? You have reminded me of the song by Peter, Paul and Mary - Puff the Magic Dragon - which my kids loved to sing along to when young.@Crazy Old Lady
I do like the dragons on Game of Thrones. They show them sparingly and always leave us wanting more.
Congrats on finishing your edits! I've had spelling issues like that, too. The brain reads what it wants to see whether that's what the words really say or not.
I like dragons, and the first one that comes to mind is Smaug from The Hobbit.
Yay for completing edits. What a relief. Congrats.
Lee's book is wonderful. Just right for curious and adventuresome kids. I like dragons. The only one I can think of, off hand, is Puff the Magic Dagon.
No, I'm not into dragons like most of my friends, but Lee's book sounds like a Famous Five adventure and then some...I have already added it to my GR list...:-)
I love dragons! Congratulations to C. Lee McKenzie!
Yay for those copy edits getting done. That always feels like such a relief! I don't think I'll ever not find something I've missed in my manuscript that has to be changed, even after several eyes have had their turn at it. Good you caught the Victor/Viktor one.
Thanks for the wonderful feature here! I appreciated the space you gave me. Now back to work I go.
Hey Lexa,
Yeah, I know, you've been twiddling your thumbs waiting for a comment from me. My friend, twiddle no more....
Well done on getting those publisher's copy edits done on your book!
Delighted to see the legend that is C. Lee McKenzie, having a big reveal. And what a *Blurb!*, oops, pardon me... I know of the Green Dragon, it's a pub in Leek, Staffordshire, England!
All the best and loads of links, methinks.
Gary :)
Have fun with edits! I am quite guilty of changing names and other spellings of things, too. I've been trying to keep a list since my series is getting bigger.
Sign of the Green Dragon sounds super fun! I adore dragons. My favorite is Smaug :)
Congratulations on finishing your edits!
As I write, I tend to change the names of my characters, too, including the spelling. It gets confusing sometimes. I use the Find & Replace function in Word and Scrivener to make sure the names are all changed to be consistent. Maybe your program has the same function.
Take care.
Kimberly
I know about those pesky little errors.
I look forward to Lee's next book.
Congratulations on finishing your final edits! YAY! I love the cover of Lee's new book. Can't wait to get my copy. Have a great week and keep celebrating!
So exciting to be working on the final edits. There's something so exhilarating about the word final when it comes to publishing. :)
Love Lee's cover and have no doubt the book will be great. Hope you are having a great week, Lexa.
Yay C Lee!!!! I just finished up edits as well. I could fiddle with the book forever. I feel like it will never be 100% clean, much like my home.
I was sure I'd been here and commented, but maybe the comment disappeared. I'm stoked for Lee. SO many epic releases and giveaways this month. My mind is pretty much blown and my TBR list is ballooning. It's a good feeling.
Grats Lee! And good catch with the name change!
Draco is my favourite moviestar dragon.
Congratulations on your stunning cover, Lexa! I'm so happy for you. Your bio rocks!
Oops, Lee, I meant you not Lexa. I type too fast sometimes. Congratulations! To you too, Lexa for all you do!
Thank you for sharing the link to Chrys's giveaway on my blog!
