Today I'm celebrating:
1) I finished Ch 6, and then got wild and crazy and jumped to writing Ch 8! I've never written chapters out of order before. It's kinda scary...
2) My wondrous CPs have accepted my apology for not keeping up with critiques. I just wanna finish Ch 8 while my muse is alive and kicking!
3) It's time to admit that my favorite way to start my writing day is with a cup of coffee and a Cinnamon Danish with raisins. I love those things! Sometimes I don't have any and have to resort to oatmeal with raisins -- probably better for me but not as fun.
Do you have a favorite breakfast food? Have you ever written chapters out of order?

My review of "Last Request" on Amazon:
(5 stars) Charming and Creepy Gothic Tale
I don’t read historical fiction very often, but I’m so glad I read this one! The premise captured me from the first instant. Why on earth would someone want his head cut off? Little by little, the puzzle unravels, and it all starts to make sense.
There were so many things I loved about this story. The main character is as sweet as she is brave. Even though she must defy the customs of the time and endanger herself, she's so ethical and loyal that she doesn't back down from her duty. All the characters are vibrant, quirky-but-realistic people who made me feel right at home. I could have read an entire novel featuring these characters and enjoyed every minute. The most delightful thing was the attention paid to the time period. All the details -- the dress, morals, and mode of speech -- were perfect. Even the settings were perfect, from drawing rooms, to servants’ quarters, to an eerie cemetery. This is a soft-toned horror story, shaded in velvety hues, like the sepia prints of the Victorian Gothic time period. Everything blends perfectly to create a wonderful reading experience. I can’t wait to read more by this author!

Chapters out of order? You daredevil! ;) Congrats on completing chapter 6, by the way! Hope the rest of the chapters go smoothly for you, even if they aren't in order, haha...
my favorite danish is called, "Apple Ugly," so good.
I'll check out Jeff's book.
Writing out of order can be refreshing! Go for it.
Nice celebration here! Enjoy your weekend,
I love that you're writing out of order. You're being free! I hope it works for you.
As for your raisin fetish at breakfast time, I have to turn my nose up. I loathe raisins… My go-to breakfast is blueberries and Greek yoghurt with a little granola sprinkled on top for texture. Or toast. You can't beat toast...
Hmm, you're making me hungry! I'm on pre-run coffee with toast and marmite this morning, but usually scoff a bacon sarnie or two afterwards to get the energy levels back again. ;-)
Congratulations on completing another chapter!
Mmm, Danish pastries for breakfast, lovely!
Have a wonderful weekend. :)
YAY! Chapter 6 is completed! Good Celebration. I've never written chap. out of order. But all writers have various techniques that work for them.
Now my mouth is watering for a danish!
I've never written chapters out of order - I would confuse myself.
Glad you got the sixth chapter done.
Yum!
Hehe, I jump around a lot in my writing, but then, I don't divide my writing into chapters beforehand either. I write in scenes and move them around to make reasonable word-count clumps. If the scenes don't fit, then they get filed away for my own reference. Thus is the disorganization that is my life. :)
My favorite breakfast food — pancakes, hands down. I've never written chapters out of order. I don't think my brain would be able to do that.
Ever since we've gotten back to the U.S., I've been splurging on bagels with cream cheese. Yum.
Congrats on being wild and crazy with those chapters! Honestly, I've never tried that before; you'll have to tell us how it goes.
Congratulations on completing chapter 6. Sounds like chapter 8 must be really exciting. I've never written chapters out of order. Might have to try it though. Sometimes change is refreshing.
I've been struggling to find the time to write lately but I really want to get back to the story I was working on. I'll have to check out some of your work sometime as I quite like horror and dark fantasy. I've never written out of order before, the idea makes me feel a little uneasy. I guess we all have preferred ways of working. Hmmmm, Cinnamon Danish – making me hungry just thinking about it. :P
Go muse! It is strange to write out of order, but if that's what gets the writing out then that's what gets the writing out. I've done it a couple times :)
And a cup of coffee and a Cinnamon Danish with raisins? Delicious. I wish I had that, but I only have a coffee and clif bar this morning. Maybe okay-health wise, but definitely not as yummy as a danish.
Oh, that historical sounds really interesting!
haha welcome to my world!! I only ever write out of order and I kind of hate it lol. And I only ever eat shredded wheat for breakfast b/c I'm a boring person lol but my FAV is pancakes--oh man I love pancakes :)
I've written four novels, none published, but I write the opening chapters first, then the ending, and lastly the middle, which for me is the hardest part.
look at you go! You should be so proud and have 2 danishes! My favourite breakfast food is Toast and honey. I looooovvvvee my honey:) After i have some fruit.
Awesome that you took the plunge and jumped ahead. And I love cinnamon rolls. These days I'm eating healthy yogurt. And lots of coffee.
And now I'm hungry!
YAY for continuing with your writing. I'm determined to get back to mine but it seems I need to find a way to find more time. :)
And Out of order writing! Go you! Not me, nope, can't do it. :)
PS: is there a way to get the code for the list for Wordpress? It doesn't allow javascript. :/

Chapters out of order are fun sometimes! Great Friday Freebies! And nice review of Jeff's book!
I rather like an almond croissant for a treat! Congrats on the writing and if writing out of order works, why not I say!
I have a confession. While I was at the supermarket earlier, I walked past the bakery and thought of your Danish. Yep, I bought cinnamon rolls. Ate one for lundh. They're a little different to yours, but delicious anyway. Now I must stay away from the bakery.
That danish looks amazing--now I'm hungry :)
The best breakfast is mango avocado salad, with or without some seeds or nuts sprinkled on top.
Enjoy your writing!
Yay congratulations on another chapter! With a work ethic like that - you deserve a danish daily :)
I've never written out of order, but I have made extensive outlines for chapters that may as well have been chapters.
I like to start with eggs, but since I worry about cholesterol, I switch it up with oatmeal also.
I love writing out of order because sometimes that's what keeps the flow going when you get stuck on a scene. Just move on and go back later. Plus it's fun to piece scenes together later.
You've made the assumption that I might be able to write chapters IN order!
Have a good weekend!
I write my chapters in what I think is order and then switch them around sometimes. Does that count? Congrats on finishing Chapter six!
When I worked in NYC I used to love stopping at the corner vendor for coffee and a danish. I swear, those things were about the size of a manhole cover (okay, maybe not that big, but they were pretty sizable).
It's one of the few things I miss about working in the City.
Mmm, a cup of coffee and a cinnamon danish with raisins sound amazing together! I'm hungry now!
How awesome that your muse is talking to you with such gusto! I don't recall ever writing a chapter out of order- but when I have gone back to edit I have added chapters in that weren't there originally. Breakfast sounds tasty! I have oatmeal a lot- especially in the winter because it is warm and cozy. :) Coffee is a must!

So awesome that writing the chps out of order is working for you... shall try that one day... just a bit scared to do it;) hehe Oh, I love those pastries... we have here with no cinnamon and lots of sultanas... we call them escargots (since they look like snails) hehe.
Nope., never wrote a chapter out of order. But then I have never written a chapter And I am all for pastry of any kind.
You are on a roll. Happy writing. I don't intend to write chapters out of order, but sometimes I add chapters between others when I'm revising, so I'm skipping chapters without knowing it.
I've never jumped chapters before, either, but I imagine it works just as well. My favourite breakfast (at the moment) is fruit, greek yoghurt and granola - lovely!
Yay for writing progress! Out of order or never jumping ahead doesn't matter if it gets it written.
The cinnamon danish sounds so yummy and coffee - always coffee. Does starting the day with two to three cups of that stuff sound like a bit much? It means I'm awake. ;-)
Interesting you skipped to chapter eight...you must be onto something good. 'Black Dove, White Raven' sure sounds good. I live on a runway, so we're all about airplanes here :)
Please, PLEASE eat some for me. I've been gluten-free for 14-ish years, and I miss the hell out of cinnamon rolls. *sigh*
=)
Love Danish bread! And keep that muse working!
Waffles with sliced bananas, walnut flakes, and whipped creme. So good. I try not to indulge too often. I think you're very brave to jump a chapter. I've never been confident enough to do so.
What? Are you INSANE, woman?? lol! I don't often write out of order, but when I get an idea of a story, the first scene I write is never the beginning. But then my linear brain cracks the whip and gets me going chronologically.
Glad your CPs accepted your apology. I'm extremely boring with my breakfast. I each Cheerios with skim milk every day. For years.
Keep that muse happy with your Danishes!!
You're such a rebel! Or maybe I'm just predictable. I stick to Cheerios with raisins and I almost always write my chapters in order. Wha-wha.
Well now you've done it. First you write that last chapter before you write the first one, then you write Chapter 8 before Chapter 7. What is this world coming to?
If I could, I'd eat danishes every day. Love dem things! Writing out of order? I wrote my first novel backwards and skipped around all over the place. Needless to say, that didn't work out so well for me.
Mostly I write in order, but I have jumped ahead a few times. Makes me feel wild and crazy LOL!
Congrats with 6 and good luck with 8!! I'm loving the sound of your enthusiasm.
Yumm-O!! My favorite breakfast food is bacon, but I usually have a box of raisins and a FiberOne bar on the go!
