Celebrate: Knead a Chapter & Freebies!

This week I'm celebrating:
1) My muse is back! She said she's been gone the last two weeks to a Muse Retreat in the Catskills, but the tan lines and the umbrella drink gave it away.  She was undoubtedly just lying on the beach in Ber-Muse-da, enjoying herself.
2) I wrote Ch 2. The fourth version. It's better than the first three versions. Or not. Or maybe?
3) What's with the upside down, kneading cat, you ask??  I have no idea.  But that's what I feel like. Upside down, but it's cool.  Just hanging.  Writing a chapter.  Might be good, might not be.  Kneading the air.  Kneading the chapter.  It's all good.  :)

What do you think upside down, kneading kitty means?

The kneading cat would be a good enough muse for me. I'm critter crazy. Have a good weekend, Lexa!

I love the kitty! Glad your muse is home safe and sound after her travels, sounds like she is refreshed and ready to go. Well done on that chapter.

I just knead a kitty… I just wish I wasn't so allergic to them.

Glad you're writing. That's a cute cat.

Have a great weekend.

Great to hear your muse is back! Can you tell her to send mine back asap? I have a sneaking suspicion my muse is sucking on an umbrella drink in Ber-Muse-da too. Love the kitty. ;)

I think it means cats are weird...
Glad the muse is back. Now, put her to work.

It feels good to get busy working after being stuck and/or unmotivated to write for awhile! Enjoy your Muse's help and go get that WIP!

I think upside down kitty is just feeling happy and content. Lucky cat!

Glad your muse came back :)

Kneading kitty means it's going to be a nice, chill day, in which you and the muse coincide peacefully. And perhaps there will be chocolate too...? This is my prediction! ;)

Vanessa Morgan said...

I think the kitty means that you're in need of a cuddle and someone to tell you that your chapter is indeed good ;-)

Glad your muse is back and it sounds like she had a much needed vacation. Hopefully she is back to work full time. :)

The news of your muse was immensely amusing. So glad she's back.

I took advantage of all the freebies. I could possibly make more money following all the freebies than I get in royalties.

If upside down is cool, go with it. I'd stand on my, rather than lay on it, too. Happy weekend.

Ber-Muse-da -- funny! I think the cat is saying, "Don't you wish you were me?" Glad you were able to get your chapter done. Happy Weekend!

Glad your muse is back; even they need a break every now and then. And when they come with a kneading cat, even better! So cute!

Sometimes it's helpful to look at the world from a different perspective, like an upside down kitty.

I sympathize with your struggle; those first few chapters are so critical, yet so hard to get right. Take care.

"bermuseda" hahaha. And omg the kneading kitten is clearly telling me to adopt a second kitten! I so want another and I can't stop thinking about it :)

Thanks for sharing the freebies, Lexa! I'm heading over to check them out as soon as I comment=)
I love how your muse went on vacation and caught a tan. Very cute!! I'm glad she is back and helping you "knead" your chapters!

My first thought was that Kneading Kitty was playing the magic trick, "Find the jellybean."
"Is it in this paw - no. It it this paw - nooo."
Then by magic, Kneading Kitty pulls the jellybean from behind your ear - "Here it is!!!"

I love those little umbrellas. Glad your muse returned.

One chapter at a time results in a book. Keep on writing.
Kitties like to be different. This one's just letting us admire her/him.

If only I had a kneeding cat like this! My life would be set. :)

T.F. Walsh said...

Looks like a pretty relaxed cat:) Yay for the return of your muse.

Love the pussy cat and don't you wish we could all be that bendable:) Glad the muse is back!

The muse is back! That fickle pickle took time in the Catskills? I bet the kneading kitty was her idea. You know a little jab at your writerly self.

"Na na na na. I've been on vacation. Miss me much?"

They're often mean spirited. I speak from experience.

Anyway, I'm getting ready to roll over and put my paws in the air. A tummy scratch would be good.

Deanie Humphrys-Dunne said...

Kitty is very cute. It's probably ready to massage your muse to keep it working! so glad things are back to normal for you.

Ava Quinn said...

So glad your muse is back on the case. And that chapter is finally getting kneaded into shape. :) Thanks for all the fun freebies!

Unknown said...

I love it when kitties 'make biscuits' like that! Glad your muse is back! :)

JeffO said...

Cats are strange.

Heh, if your muse-cat went to the Catskills, she probably came home because of the foot+ of snow and stopped at a tanning parlor on the way. Glad you've made progress!

Anonymous said...

Welcome back, Muse! Glad you're making progress -- that's always a good feeling.

L.G. Keltner said...

Yay for the return of the muse! I hope you're having a great weekend!

Hey Lexa,

A cat in knead is a cat, indeed. The cat has had an upside down cake and the cat is actually right side up after eating the upside down cake.

Foxy Freebies. I'm quite liking the look of that fox. I'll leave it at that.

Any mention of a blog hop is completely ignored by me!

Hope you had a nice weekend, Lexa.

Sometimes a trip to Ber-Muse-da is exactly what a writer needs.

TBM said...

I guess muses need holidays too. Happy writing. Cats are odd, but so lovable.

Obviously, I'm late for the Friday, but that cat... Maybe he/she is practicing how to strip a Christmas tree of all it's shinny ornaments. (Yes, I can relate.)

LD Masterson said...

I'm pretty sure the kitty is doing some sort of yoga move.

I gave my muse a break for Christmas but she better get back here on December 26.
