Celebrate: Old People & Freebies

This week I'm celebrating:

1) I started Ch 2, got 1500 words in ... but it just didn't feel right.  Since there's no deadline, I pondered for a day or two, did some research, and came up with a totally different approach.  I started again, and I'm only 700 words in, but it feels very good!
2) With my new no-more-stress lifestyle, I went out and spent time walking with a friend. We walked for almost two hours, gabbing, and having a great time.  The next morning I felt --- well, I'll let the cat describe it.

And here are some more for your entertainment!

Which was your favorite?

Laugh long and often!

Sometimes the words come easily, and sometimes you have to fight tooth and nail for them. Glad it took an upswing for you.

Oh, and the funerals one was my fave. :D Always good to see you, Lexa.

Good for you on your revision work. I've been having a love/hate relationship with my WiP this month, which is very tiring.

Keep doing the walks and you'll feel better each time! Have a nice weekend.

Thanks, Lexa!
Walk every day and you won't feel like that.
And the last one made me chuckle.

Ha ha! Those are brilliant! I especially like "Stop showing off, I know it's your walking stick"

Congratulations on your WIP, it's good to take a step back and take a different approach.

I always feel so invigorated after a long walk, but, like you, the next day it's another story.

Have a wonderful weekend :)

That last one made me laugh - thanks :)

Hahahaaa.....thanks for the morning chuckle, I needed that!!!

You did the right thing with your wip, good luck!!

All were funny, but poking old people at funerals and telling them they were next drew the biggest chuckle.

Glad your new chpt two is more satisfying! And I can't pick a favorite. They were all hilarious! thanks for the laugh!!

Loni Townsend said...

Hehehe. Those all made me giggle, but the "you're next" one definitely appealed to my dark side the most. :)

Your stress-free time sounds wonderful. Yay for restarting and making words work and flow better!

Favorite old timer joke (PG-13):

An elderly couple get married. On the wedding night, she dresses in her new flimsy lingerie and steps out of the bathroom, announcing: "I have to warn you - I've got acute angina."

Her new hubby replies: "I hope so, because the rest of your body seems a little worn out."

[That's as blue as I go.]

The pole dancing one was great!
Yes, whenever I walk a ways I feel great afterwards. It doesn't stress your joints like running or intense aerobics.

You made me laugh.

Oh I am crispy too:) Love the pussy cat but love that first joke "acute angina"-hahahaaaaa. That did make me laugh and so did the kid poking the old people at funerals

Kate Larkindale said...

Oh dear! Those are funny. I especially like the little boy saying "you're next"....

So glad you're loving your new story. Can't wait to read the next chapter.

bahahaha the little boy saying "you're next" ugh I HATED that as a kid! It's worse as you get older! lol and congrats on just writing what feels good--I'm having those same issues. I'll write a ton of words and nothing feels right to me! Gotta just let it go and have fun. :)

The Christmas card one was my favorite!

Yay for being less stressed! I love taking long walks. They're so relaxing. "I am crispy." Too funny. Thanks for the laughs and good luck with your WIP. Sounds like you're going in the right direction.

Pole dancing? Here I come. That was a good one.

Heeheehee! Thanks for the laugh.

LOL. I'm starting to feel a little creaky myself. :D

Joylene Nowell Butler said...

I am crisp? Well, that explains it!

Beverly Stowe McClure said...

You know, your writing should make you feel good. Write what you love.
The at's my favorite because now I know I'm not old, even though my bones creak and groan at times. I'm just crispy. Cats are so smart.
Thanks for the freebies. I entered a few. I'm addicted.

The last one- so naughty, but hilarious! =) This has been my fav joke lately, a blond one(no offense to blonds, I just like it!) Why did the blond get fired from the M&M factory? B/c she kept throwing away all the W's. Heh heh heh...

Unknown said...

ROTFL-- all of them naughty, but cute. I loved the one about the Christmas Card :)

Donna K. Weaver said...

Thanks for the laugh. I especially loved the creaking cat. I so resembled that picture!

Hi human, Lexa,

Oh and hello to all my adoring fans who have visited your amazing blog! :)

Of course, my lovely human friend, I like all the captions. The crispy cat is the bestest to me.

Happy, stress-free writing.

Pawsitive wishes,

Penny :)

Julie Flanders said...

Yeah for feeling good with the WIP. I hope that continues.
I think the sexual relations Christmas card was my favorite LOL.

L.G. Keltner said...

Thanks for the laughs! This post brightened my night!

Rawknrobyn.blogspot.com said...

Sexual relations - not even a Christmas card. Haha. I love it.

It's better to write something you feel good about in several hundred words versus a billion words of crap.

Have a great week, Lexa. Smiles.

Annie Neugebauer said...

Hahaha! Oh Lexa, you always make me smile. :) I liked the acute angina one. Thanks for the cheer!

I love your no more stress lifestyle, Lexa. I, too, have come to the conclusion that this is the only way to have a more fulfilling and happy life. You went for a walk and caught up with a friend and I met up with some people who I haven't seen in over a decade! It sounds like we both are allowing laughter and joy to navigate our lives rather than be consumed by stress.
Sorry you had to start over your chapter but glad it's better than before=)

Congratulations on your story!! It's great that you feel so good about it :). Funny pictures, they made me laugh

I liked all of them, especially the pole dancing one ;) I needed the laughter. Hugs.

I'm starting to feel my age too, but I can't decide if that's the pregnancy speaking, or just experience. It's a strange thing, watching the world change and remembering your place in it at each phase.
