In Manhattan’s glitzy gallery scene love and art are perilous games.  Will Sienna dare to play?

All too soon, artist Sienna Karr will graduate art school and be flung out into Manhattan’s glamorous but cutthroat gallery scene. Luckily, she’s just met Dave Hightower, heir to the hippest gallery ever. He’s asked her on a date and offered to introduce her to the gallery owner, his intimidating Aunt Lydia. Sienna’s excited! Now she’ll be able to climb the ranks and make those all-important art connections.

Trouble is, she’s falling hard for the sexy live-drawing model, Erik, whose sizzling green eyes seem to pierce right into her soul. Dare she risk losing those potential art contacts for love? Erik insists that Sienna is a real talent and her painting stands out above all the others. But she worries that he whispers this come-on line to every pretty art student who flocks around him during breaks. And her friends worry, is Erik up to her pay grade? What kind of guy chooses modeling for a living? Who is he, really? Her choice may be her ruin… or not, but she must decide fast. Everything in Sienna’s super-organized life is turning to terrifying yet sweet chaos.

CELEBRATE THE SMALL THINGS

This week I'm celebrating:
1) After not liking the first two seasons of American Horror Story, I'm loving Coven(It airs 3 months behind here, so I'm only halfway through the season.)  Who can argue with the likes of Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, and Angela BassetThey're awesome!
2) I'm also enjoying Olympic figure skating although the judging sometimes seems a bit peculiar...
3) I've hit 25k on my current WIP.  I'm stopping to re-think the plot a lot, so it's slow going, but I keep repeating to myself,  Just keep writing, just keep writing, just keep writing...

How do you feel about AHS: Coven? There are a lot of horror series on TV -- which ones are your favorites?

This post is part of VikLit's blog hop, Celebrate the Small Things. To be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is follow the link and put your name on the Mr.Linky list, and then be sure to post every Friday about something you're grateful  for that week.  It can be about writing or family or school or general life.  This is the funnest and easiest blog hop ever!

Haven't had a chance to watch AHS: Coven yet. I didn't see the first 2 series, but I keep hearing good things about the 3rd. My TV faves are 'Supernatural', 'Arrow', 'The Walking Dead', and 'Sleepy Hollow'. Plus, I'm obsessively re-watching my 'Moonlight' DVDs ever since the Vampire's Day Soiree. ;)

Model Position sounds amazing!

And congrats on reaching 25K! That's such a great accomplishment! :)

I don't know how you find time to watch TV! I can't even find time to watch movies at the moment, and that's my job! Good work on the WIP. Just keep writing!

Elise Fallson said...

Congrats on making headway on your wip. I wish I could say the same....
Model Position sounds like a great book! Off to add this one to my list. Thanks for sharing this with us, Lexa.

I'm enjoying watching some of the unusual events in the Winter Olympics. Congrats on reaching 25K - just keep on writing. Happy weekend.

Congrats to Kisty on her book. It sounds great. And congrats on your work in progress. Sounds like you're making lots of progress.

Congratulations to Catherine.
Figure skate judging always seems peculiar.

That title sounds delicious. And the setting can only make it better! Congrats Catherine. ;-)

Congrats to Kitsy. :)

And, hey, I love the new header (new to me since I haven't been around for awhile :P).

Congrats to Kitsy/Catherine! I hope Model Position is a big success.

And congrats to you on the 25k, yay!! That's awesome. Have a great weekend, Lexa.

Lee McKenzie shared some kissing scene advice on my Writing Tips blog this week. The book cover made me think of it. I too am enjoying Olympic Figure Skating - and downhill skiing too!

Shah Wharton said...

Yeah, congrats to the bok launch. It has a lovely cover and intriguing blurb.

And Lexa, I have seen all three AHS's and loved them all. I recently heard that Coven is considered the worst of the three, so it's new to hear your assessment. I admit the first was my favourite, mostly because it was so odd and original and I never knew what to expect. That's rare in any genre these days.

What are your thoughts on Dracula (the TV series?) I used to love the guy who plays him (can't recall his name) in Tudors, but flip me if he isn't hammy in this. But I'm still drawn to watching it? :)

Have a great weekend Lexa. Keep writing! :)

If the story is as romantic as that cover, I'm in :-)

I have not been watching AHS but if I can see Coven online may give it a try.
I am looking forward to a Salem witch show soon on WGN America. I don't get too many channels on the tv.

Model Position sounds like a wonderful feel good ( and sexy) read. Something just for me!

I have really been enjoying the Winter Olympic Games. Figure skating has always been one of my favorite events!!!

Oooh a romance book! Model Position sounds great :D

Glad you hit the 25K mark...but yes: just keep writing, just keep writing...(I'm not sure if I'm telling this to myself or to you. It works either way lol)

Model Position sounds like a really fun read!

I agree about the judging on all the figure skating this year. Crazy.

LD Masterson said...

Best of luck to Kitsy on her release.

Horror shows leave me spooked so I don't watch them. I like crime drama/mystery...which is a bit strange because I'm much more likely to get assaulted, robbed, or murdered than I am to run into a vampire, zombie, etc.

VikLit said...

I'm loving the Winter Olympics! Hurrah to 25k.

Mere Joyce said...

Congrats on the 25k mark! Definitely enjoying the Olympics, but not for the skating...more invested in the curling matches, lol!

Nicki Elson said...

Ooh la la, Model Position does sound saucy & fun.

You've got great small things going on---I haven't heard any reports on the Coven season yet, Glad to hear it's a good one! I'm too scared to watch it myself, but I like having people tell me about it.

Just keep writing. :)

Oh my dragon goodness! It's been a few that I've not been here and look what I found! New banner, very cool! Those 25k are awesome, and you listen to yourself because that's century-distilled wisdom. Just keep writing, keep writing!

Congrats to Kitsy on the release!

My daughter loves American Horror and the Coven series. (I need to repeat those writing words to myself too.) :)

Book sounds great. Congrats, Kitsy.

Ahhh I'm at that stage with my book... relooking at the plot. I've got the breaks pressed hard, and I can't seem to keep forward until I fix the issue. Best of luck:)

Congrats to Kitsy. And congrats to you on your WIP progress! You're doing great! :)

Right now I'm not a TV show person. I watch movies.

I hope to read Kitsy's novella. Congrats to her.

I loved the first season of AHS, but sort of missed the second season. The way they run them here, you forget about them...by the time I realized it was back on the air, it was half over. I've really enjoyed the third season, but like I said, I was "out of the groove" when it came to remembering to watch.

Just keep writing. ;)

Yay on the 25k words, Lexa! I'm here, cheering you on. :) I'm reaaaallly enjoying Olympics figure skating, although I miss it when I have to go to work. :)
Happy Sunday!

My kids said Coven is good, I must check it out. Good going on getting 25k on your wip! We've been watching the Olympics so much that I'm almost glad they're coming to an end.

I thought I recognized Kitsy/Catherine -- maybe I need a not-so-secret identity too. Way to go on the 25K -- keep up the good work. Sad to see the Olympics go, but The Amazing Race starts up tonight, and Team Fowler always enjoys that show.

Well done to Kitsy. Excellent stuff. Well done on getting to 25K on your current WIP. Whatever the heck that means. And thank you for your very thoughtful comment on my site. It means a great deal :)

Congrats on your #3 celebration!!! WTG
I'm jealous of your #2 - NBC online only let me watch a few minutes, and most of it was commercials. :(
#1- I have only seen season 1 so far, which I liked - when it got to the last episode... LOL.

Ah, to be young and in love. Congrats, Kitsy. Love the cover.

Congrats on hitting 25K in you WIP. I understand about going slow. That's me. Just remember, the turtle got there. :)

The figure skating was my favorite part of the Olympics. Loved our dance winners. They are so graceful and lovely.

Catherine's book sounds like a winner. Congratulations to Catherine. Best of luck.

Catherine's book is quite a great addition to her other books. Congrats to her on being multitalented, mulit-published author. The Olympics had some amazing moments to celebrate. Here's to more words on that WIP!

Such interesting choices. I hope she ends up with the correct guy.

Wahoo! I've been excited for this one a while now. Not only do I love Catherine, but I mean, look at that cover, eh?
