I'm like you. I can never remember my passwords. I try to always use the same one, but so many sites need different formats, it's tricky. And then you have things like the website I manage at work where you need a new password every 6 weeks!

I know that feeling ... so many passwords etc to remember. Hope your computer is ok now. Scary how lost without them we can be!

Good luck trying to remember all your passwords. Hope your laptop gets fixed without much trouble.

Computer problems are a pain in the neck. I learned that I have to keep all passwords jotted down mainly as a reminder. I'm terrible about forgetting them and second in case I need to use a different computer then I need said list to access my regular visited sites. Best of luck to getting your compute back soon. Thanks for hosting. Have a good weekend!

So sorry to hear about your laptop. I always forget to back up my work and one day I'll be screwed!!!

Sorry about your laptop. Hope they don't wipe out all your passcodes

I know what you mean about passwords. I have to write them all down because they are often different. Hope you get your laptop back soon.

Hope you get your laptop back soon! It's so weird using someone else's computer, isn't it?

I know what you mean about passwords. I keep an index card with me when we travel because I use my ipad when away from home, and who knows or can remember all those passwords. I know we're not suppose to write them down...but, that's not reasonable.

My first Friday with the Celebrate, so far I've hit several blogs that don't seem to be participating ie no badge visible and no appropriate post. Since people don't sign up each Friday they want to participate, I wonder if people have dropped out and just not let you know?

Good luck with the computer, hope it isn't something major.

Hope your laptop is back home soon.

Yay! Now that I'm back in town at my regular writing desk I have some time. I signed up for your vacation blog hop. Sounds like big fun!

Sorry about the computer crash. Hope it's fixed soon.
I keep a spiral notebook of my passwords or I'd never remember them.

Birgit said...

All these passwords suck. Do they not realize that many of us are not 13 and can remember them all. I mark mine down so i know all the passwords and i still screw up. Hope you get your laptop soon

Sorry about your computer troubles!

It's such a pain trying to remember all those passwords!

Okay, i've signed up. That Saturday is when we will be leaving for vacation anyway, so i might as well tell everyone about it!

I'm so sorry about your computer. I remember when the Apple Geniuses had to work on my a couple months ago and the half a week they had it was like the longest of my life.

I reallllllly need to get back into blogging. I totally meant to start this week, but now it's suddenly Friday. So I am going to the summer vacation blog hop and get back to my regularly postings! You're an inspiration, Lexa :)

What a pain about your laptop. I can't remember all my passwords, either, and have to write them down. I have too many other things I need to remember. There's not enough room in my poor brain. Hope you get your laptop back quickly! Enjoy the weekend!

Ava Quinn said...

Gah! That is a bummer about your laptop. I too rely on a bunch of fill ins for sites and passwords on my computer.

Hope yours is fixed and back under your hot little fingers before you know it!!

I hope you get your laptop fixed soon. Love your blog hop idea but I'm going to have to pass this time.

Sorry to hear about your computer trouble, and passwords are a pain. Ugh. Enjoy your blog hop-vacations is a great topic!

Unknown said...

I can't wait for this blog hop...vacations..sigh I could use one! And I'm the same: I have a million passwords and I forget ALL of them. I hate when a site wants me to include a combo of uppercase, lowercase, a number and a symbol. I'm like noooo lol

shelly said...

I feel lost without my computer, too. Hope you get it back again soon.

Jolie du Pre said...

That TOTALLY SUCKS about your laptop. As authors, we completely rely and need the things. I hope everything gets better soon!

I have trouble remembering passwords too. Ick! Have a good weekend!

Cathy Keaton said...

Same problem with remember passwords. I usually use the same password for all websites, depending on whether I need an easy one or a hard one, but I'll completely forget some of them.

So sorry to hear about your laptop problems! I'm having laptop issues, too. Gonna buy me a new one with the Memorial Day sales.

Whoops about your computer, Lexa but a great big cheer for your fortitude in getting this post up and keeping the blog hop going - yay for you!!! Hopefully, everything will turn out OK in the end and now I'm going to join in your vacation blog hop and sign up :) Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace

Unfortunately, I learned (the hard way) to keep a hard copy of my links on index cards.

I joined the vacation bloghop!

Dianne K. Salerni said...

Oh, hey, I have no problem with passwords. I use the same password for EVERYTHING -- just like my main character, Jax. Of course, that ended up getting him kidnapped, but what are the odds it'll happen to me, too? ;)

Thanks for the shout out for First Impressions!

Kathe W. said...

I have about 30 passwords....written down and changed every month.....gotta love those $#@! hackers!

Cathy said...

Sorry about your computer problems and aaaackkkk! I'd be pulling my hair out if I didn't have a master list of my passwords, which I finally got around to creating only about a year ago. And it constantly needs updating with new passwords and password changes. What a pain.

Hope your laptop gets fixed soon... I would die without mine:)

Oh, no! I'm so sorry to hear your computer crashed! I can definitely see why you'd be bummed. And, yeah, it's impossible to remember every single login without a browser to help, isn't it? Ugh!

kimlajevardi.com said...

Bad computer! :-( Remembering passwords is awful, isn't it? Half the time I have to use the "I forgot my password" feature. Argh...

I'm looking forward to the vacation bloghop. I've been thinking about a trip I took several years go, and I plan on revisiting that trip and pictures for my post. I won't spill the beans, but it was cool. ;)

Unknown said...

Hope your laptop gets fixed soon! It's always a pain to work on a new computer.

Blogoratti said...

Indeed, so many passwords to always remember, here and there. It can get quite frustrating when you change your password, and forget it within the same day!

DMS said...

I can never remember half of my passwords either! Too many to keep track of- so thank goodness for autofill and I really should keep track of them better. So sorry to hear about your laptop. That totally stinks. I hope it is back up and running soon. :)

I'm looking forward to the day we won't need a password anymore. A quick retina scan and we're in! ;)

So sorry to hear about your laptop! That scares me about mine. I haven't backed anything up recently and I've been thinking about that.

I haven't been on vacation in so long, so I don't have a favorite place that I go to. Otherwise I would sign up for your Summer Vacation blog hop. :o(

Denise Covey said...

I have a print out of all my passwords - such a no no, but what can you do?
I have signed up for Summer! Can't wait now! :-)

Julia Thorley said...

I used to have the same password for pretty much everything, but finally woke to the security risk of this. Now I keep them written down (eek!) and if I ever lose my list I shall be in deep do-do. The only one I change regularly is for my online banking.

Sharon Himsl said...

Hi Lexa. Bummer indeed being without your computer but hope it's all better now. My laptop is getting a bit old and I keep waiting for the 'screen of death'. I save my WIP whenever I work on it. Passwords are a major pain. I have a typed sheet that fills both sides and store a copy in our safe. Feels like overkill, but I'd be lost without it!

Melancholy and Menace said...

Gah! I hate using other people's computers. I hope you get your laptop repaired soon. I'm not sure I'd remember all my password either :(

Kelley said...

Oh no! Is it fixed? I have a password manager. If I didn't I'd lose my mind. There is no way I could keep up with all of them. Well, assuming they were all unique.

Jay Noel said...

I rely on autofill too. So when I clean out my cookies, I'm totally lost and I'm trying all kinds of usernames and passwords.

It's like I'm trying to hack myself.

klahanie said...

Hey Lexa,

Phew, just remembered my password. This means, I got here :) Oops and no way to blog hops for this dude. I would have them banned! :)

Thanks for all the links on here, Lexa. I thoroughly skimmed through the entire post.

Gary :)

cleemckenzie said...

Bummed, indeed. All will be well soon and it will only take you a few hours to reset all those passwords. :-)

I signed up for your Hop and it will be my last post of May and June. Have to pack my bags and hit the road June 1.

Read The Mission and was suitably horrified. You don't make dark nights very comfy, Lexa. :-)

If my laptop crashes, I'm going to have a total fit! (It's a fairly new MAC. So it should be okay.) So sorry yours crashed. I'm looking forward to the hop!
