Congratulations on the return of your laptop and on the shorter ending for your WIP. I'd be lost without my laptop. And I know how satisfying it is when you feel you've found just the right ending. Enjoy your new blog hop and have a great day.

So glad to hear you have your laptop back safe and sound. We are lost without them aren't we?

Enjoy your weekend, Lexa.

I missed what happened to your laptop, but I am glad to read that it's back and you lost nothing. That blog hop looks like fun, I have to look through my photos.

So glad you got your laptop back!! I also tied up the ending in my book devoid of a lot of messy words. Sometimes its easier and less boring for the reader. Have a good weekend.

Lexa, glad to hear you got your laptop back! Yay!!! Technology can be your best friend or worst enemy EVER. I have battled with our Windows based computers over the years. One time it was really, really scary bad! Our desktop HD had a mechanical failure of some sort and we were unable to retrieve the data ourselves. In short, we had to send it to a white room for them to pull the info off the drive. We were blessed. It appeared they were able to get everything off or the best that we could tell at the time. The thing that worried me was our digital photos were in jeopardy. Nowadays, I make sure to backup all photos to at least two other external HD as a double measure of assurance that I won't ever have to go through that again. Anywho, I hope to get my post ready for tomorrow's hop. I totally forgot about it until Dixie reminded me yesterday. Now off to write about my favorite vacation spot.

There is nothing like your own laptop. Mine is missing the Z key, has a few sticky ones, and does a nice whirring sound whenever I have too many apps running at the same time. It's more than 5 years old, so I know I need a new one, but I love my old one, even if it takes forever to load apps. I think I'm going to wait until it actually croaks. In the meantime, I backup everything onto google plus and an external hard drives, just in case.

Have a great weekend!

Yay for having your laptop back! It's much nicer working with your own, familiar tool. Hope you have some great writing time with it soon!

yay, so happy your laptop is back! It's like reuniting with a friend, right? Although when mine came back from repairs once there was a huge scratch down the top! I was so upset! xoxo

I'm so happy for you! The sanity that comes from having all of your files secure on a machine that actually works is like nothing else! Thanks so much for adding me to the list and Happy Friday!

Congrats, Lexa! That must be a huge relief.

Having something go wrong with my laptop is one of my worst fears.

Love the koala photo! Yay for getting your laptop back without losing anything! I'm so paranoid about losing my writing files that I always have at least three backup copies on flash drives in different locations.

YAY FOR LAPTOP RECOVERY!!!!
That is so excellent... It was just over a year ago that my desktop died on me... I wasn't able to recover everything, but luckily all my writing was saved!

Well, my computer or your website ate my first comment, so here's my second. Not as urbane, but simple and to the point. Loved reading your vacation story.

Okay - how did I miss your post? I was ready to take up a collection to get your laptop fixed!!

Kelley said...

OMGs!! I so rarely hear happy endings to computer woes. I'm glad all is well in that domain (no pun). I've had so many tragedies in the tech realm, losing projects. Not fun. I'm relieved that you are up and running, with NO losses!

TheCyborgMom said...

How awesome that you didn't have any info lost! Glad to hear you are back up and running! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and good luck with your vacation blog hop!
