I'm not usually into blog hops because they often want too many days, have too many rules, or are too writer-centric. But VikLit's new blog hop, Celebrate the Small Things, is so cute and self-affirming, I had to join!
It's easy to get tunnel vision about what's going wrong in your life, and you forget all the little things that are going right. To be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is post every Friday about some small (or big) accomplishment for that week. It can be about writing or family or school or general life.
This week, I'm grateful I got my January Horror Newsletter written for Writing.com. I made a really nice Chicken Noodle with Bechamel casserole. (It must have been really nice because Hubby ate half the casserole in one sitting! O.o) And I've managed to finally get rid of a cold that's been dogging me for three weeks, due to a surprising mild break in the winter weather here in Egypt.
Yay for the small things! :-D

This is awesome. Love this idea! I'm posting three days a week right now and I don't know if I want to take on Fridays--but this sounds like a really fun idea. So, I'll have to think about it.
I have never heard of Bechamel. Is that something from your part of the world?
Congratulations on the newsletter and the yummy food! Those are great accomplishments!
Glad you're feeling better! The casserole sounds awesome... :)
Yummy sounding recipe and yes! for conquering that clingy flu bug. We had it here at my house and with 6 people, it just ran it's course, person to person. So glad we are better.
Cheers! and Congrats!!
These all sound great - yummy casserole and shaking your cold and yay to newsletter. *TWIRLS YOU*
Thank YOU SO MUCH for joining in.
I'm so glad I haven't been sick this winter. And your casserole sounds delicious, just the thing for a frigid day like we're having here.
I'm glad you've recovered from your cold. Is it humid in Egypt? If so, I wonder if that had helped to relieve your congestion. And YAY for yummy casseroles!
Congratulations on the newsletter!
Bechamel sounds familiar, but I can't seem to place it? I'm off to google it quickly...
It's hard to write and be creative when you're under the weather. Glad you're feeling better.
Congrats for getting the newsletter written. And I love Bechamel, in fact I think I'm going to make crepes with bechamel sauce and ham and cheese...
What a great idea for a blog hop. I'm glad you're feeling better, and congrats on the newsletter!
This is a great idea. I'm going to have to look into this blog hop, since I'm always trying to remember the small things that go right for me, instead of always the bad. Congrats on your newsletter and the yummy casserole you baked. ;)
Congrats on the newsletter and successful dinner! I know when I try something new and my hubs likes it I am pretty proud of myself :)
Mmmm... casserole. Now I'm hungry. :-) What a great idea for a blog hop - I'll have to look into it.
That noodle chicken made me feel hungry, hahaha. Great you are healthy again!
Congrats on getting the newsletter done and I'm glad you're feeling better.
Glad you're getting over your cold. I thought I was, but my cough's come back. No warm spell here - it's getting colder and colder!
Love the idea of this bloghop! :) I'm glad you're feeling better, got your newsletter in and YAY for yummy food!!! :)
Lots to celebrate here. Glad you are feeling better. Hubby and I are both suffering with chesty coughs at the moment - so exhausting. This is a great blog hop :)
A horror newsletter? That is very cool!!!
And glad you feel better. Seems everyone has been sick.
What a great idea! It's so easy to forget about all the things that are going right in our lives. :)
What a cool idea! I may just have to sign up for this one too. And you must give me the recipe for that casserole. It sounds like something even my picky kids might eat....
Yay for the small things! :) So glad to hear you're feeling better. And congrats on the newsletter. Just got hungry after reading about the Chicken Noodle casserole *dashes to the kitchen in serach for food or something edible*
The small things posts are brilliant! It's so nice to focus on things that are little, but really make a big difference.
Yay for ebating the cold!! And that Bechamel casserole sounds mighty nice.

Good for Small Things! Bechamel sounds tasty but never tried it!

U go girl!
Casserole sounds good! I also judge the quality of my cooking by my husband's portion sizes, lol. I like the idea of celebrating the little things. Even when I have a terrible day (or week!) there's always a few redeeming things.
Oh, I love your uplifting post! :D
Oooh, could you share this recipe?! ;D
It sounds amazing!
Thank you for sharing this!
So many blogs so little time!!
Oooo, chicken noodle with Bechamel~ sounds soooo good right now :) I am all about the little things lately. For instance, I did a little bit of school with my four-year-old AND got laundry done this morning while the baby was sleeping. Feeling like supermom, though my writing has suffered lately. I'll get organized by next month maybe...
Mmm, sounds good. And getting rid of that cold is a great victory. It stuck around here for a while too. Nasty cold!
That's such a nice bloghop... so easy to forget the small things. Your newsletter is fantastic by the way:)
I didn't even know what a bloghop was. So my small thing I am celebrating is I now know what a bloghop is, thanks to you.
I need to think about the small things today. Sounds like you had some wonderful victories this week!
